Her mother is of Chinese and Swedish descent and her father is of Eastern European descent. Her maternal grandmother is Swedish and her maternal grandfather is a Chinese immigrant from Ningbo. She is grateful having both connection of her Swedish and Chinese heritage.

Lola broke her foot while on set of "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and had to perform a Volleyball scene which she described as 'painful'.
