Sex. Paranoia. Betrayal. These are the are among the first words that come to mind when we talk about the cult horror hit, It Follows. A movie that serves as a refreshing splash of originality and imagination that has gone on to become a mainstay in the Blu-ray players of horror lovers everywhere. While it’s a movie that certainly receives its share of praise for being fresh with its concept and quite creative in its depiction of the movie’s antagonistic entity- it also doesn’t seem to get the analysis it deserves beyond those initial praises. While the freshness and high-quality storytelling are certainly not up for debate in my book- this movie is awesome- I must say that beyond all the sex, paranoia, and betrayal, there’s also a surprising layer of tenderness, friendship, and empowerment that carry it through the trending page and into the pop culture zeitgeist forever.

Today at the San Diego Comic-Con, AMC Networks announced that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been renewed for a third season, which will be produced and set in Spain. Production of season three will begin next month and be based in Madrid, with extensive location shooting planned in the Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia, and Valencia regions.

The announcement came during the show’s standing-room-only session in Hall H, which was attended by series stars and executive producers Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, cast member Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, showrunner David Zabel, and executive producer and director Greg Nicotero.

Season three tracks Carol (McBride) and Daryl (Reedus) as they continue their journey toward home and the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.

Today, AMC Networks’ The Walking Dead Universe returned to Comic-Con International’s Hall H with a star-studded panel for The Walking Dead: Dead City, moderated by Chris Hardwick. They Follow filming starts in early 2025, no release date yet. Sequel to It Follows may face challenge with a decade gap. Monroe's star power and return of the original director bring excitement to They Follow.

They Follow gets a filming update from one of the original film's stars. It Follows is 2014 horror film about a woman who is followed by a supernatural being after having a sexual encounter one evening. The film is directed by David Robert Mitchell and features a leading cast including Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Olivia Luccardi, Lili Sepe, Bailey Spry, and Carollette Phillips. Late last year, a sequel to It Follows titled They Follow was announced.

As per IndieWire, Monroe provides an update on They Follow. According to Monroe, the team will start filming in early 2025. Monroe did not provide further details about the film, noting that there was very little that she could say.

Exclusive: Captain Marvel writer-directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are set to direct the first four episodes of Prime Video’s Criminal, a drama based on the multi-Eisner Award-winning graphic novel series created by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips.

Criminal was ordered to series in January and is currently in pre-production in Portland. Brubaker, who penned the pilot script, co-showruns with crime fiction author Jordan Harper (Hightown).

The TV show is described as an interlocking universe of crime stories. As Brubaker explained to Deadline in a 2019 interview, “Criminal tells the interweaving saga of several generations of families tied together by the crimes and murders of the past.”

Brubaker and Harper executive produce alongside Phillips, Sarah Carbiener, Philipp Barnett and Legendary Television. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

It Follows 2 is officially happening under a new title, with Maika Monroe set to reprise her role. In the days since Angus Cloud's sudden death at age 25, fans and fellow celebrities have paid their respects with heartfelt words and personal anecdotes about the "Euphoria" actor. On Aug. 3, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Cloud's legacy will live on in three posthumous film projects, including a thriller that could debut as early as 2024.

Following his breakout role as Fezco in "Euphoria," Cloud expanded his film and TV résumè with a handful of meaningful roles, including a 2019 cameo as himself in the reality TV show "The Perfect Woman." In 2021, Cloud starred alongside Ryder McLaughlin, Vince Vaughn, and Miranda Cosgrove in Mikey Alfred's "North Hollywood," a comedy-drama film loosely based on the director's life. Then in 2023, Cloud appeared in Ethan Berger and Alex Russek's "The Line," starring Alex Wolff, Lewis Pullman, Halle Bailey, and Austin Abrams.

Max is touting strong viewership for its true-crime limited drama series Love & Death.

The streaming service says that the Elizabeth Olsen and Jesse Plemons series has become its number one most-watched Max original limited series globally.

Previous limited series for the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned service, which didn’t give any hard numbers for Love & Death, include Station Eleven, Dmz and The Staircase.

It also noted that the limited series, which comes from writer David E. Kelley and director Lesli Linka Glatter, had the biggest launch of any Max original in 2023. However, there haven’t been any other big original drama or comedy launches this year – Love & Death has been its first original live-action scripted title to launch out of the U.S. since Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and Rap Sh!t in July 2022, although it has launched series such as animated comedy Fired on Mars...

HBO’s newest limited series may have a simple title, but it’s a complex tale of friendship and betrayal.

“Love & Death,” written by David E. Kelley and directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, tells the true story of Candy and Pat Montgomery and Betty and Allan Gore – two churchgoing couples enjoying their smalltown Texas life … until an extramarital affair leads somebody to pick up an axe.

Elizabeth Olsen calls herself an “unemployed” actor — even after playing Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and her latest role as Candy Montgomery in the HBO miniseries “Love & Death.”

The horribly tragic true story of Candy Montgomery and Betty Gore has been grist for several true-crime dramas. During the summer of 1980, Montgomery stopped by her friend Gore's home to pick up a swimsuit for Gore's daughter. Gore allegedly confronted Montgomery, who was engaged in an affair with her husband. A fight ensued, and, per Montgomery, she murdered Gore in self-defense. The sticking point here is the viciousness of the killing: Gore was struck 41 times with an axe. Though Montgomery was found not guilty, many people in the Dallas suburb of Wylie, Texas believed she had murdered Gore in cold blood, and protested the verdict.

Tom Pelphrey is living in baby girl bliss! In March, the actor and his partner, Kaley Cuoco, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Matilda.

“The first month has been heaven,” Pelphrey tells Et’s Deidre Behar while promoting his new HBO Max show, “Love & Death”.

Although he’s only been a father for a matter of weeks, Pelphrey says that he has already learned a few important lessons.

“It’s sort of like you keep them safe, you keep them healthy, you don’t let them hurt themselves and you offer guidance and structure,” he says. “I feel like the the child is also apart of this equation and they’re not going to be dictated to or shouldn’t be.”
