If endorsing antisemitic posts wasn’t enough, Elon Musk has now advanced several rungs in the batshit conspiracy ladder into engaging with a post pushing Pizzagate.
Last week, Musk wrote “You have said the actual truth” in response to a post from an X user claiming Jewish people were responsible for promoting “dialectical hatred against whites.” The X owner promoting the antisemitic conspiracy theory drew widespread backlash, including from the White House.

If you believe former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, Media Matters for America is the nation’s “most dangerous organization,” which would be quite a feat for a modestly funded nonprofit whose 80 employees spend a lot of their time quietly watching cable news at their desks. The 15-year-old, left-leaning news-watchdog group’s mission of combating “conservative misinformation” extends to minute-by-minute scrutiny of right-wing media — Fox News, in particular — and its stars, who do not, as a rule, enjoy the attention. Sean Hannity accused Mmfa of “liberal fascism,” and said...

Washington — John Podesta has given it a lot of thought and believes the best way to deal with the trolls is to ignore them. His wife, Mary, however, takes a different approach. When angry people call their home in the middle of the night, she has a conversation with them.
“She sits on the phone and talks to them, which is disconcerting actually to most of the people who are calling just to leave a nasty message on your voicemail,” Podesta says. “When somebody actually engages them and says, ‘Why are you doing this?...

Frank Bruni of the New York Times, in scalding-hot-take mode while filling in for Tom Friedman, wrote a piece this week called “The Center Is Sexier Than You Think.”
Bruni’s screed is the latest in an increasingly comic (and panicked, and over-blown) series of media reactions to the surprise primary win of young Bronx Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Ocasio-Cortez is a Democratic Socialist who worked on the 2016 campaign of Bernie Sanders. She espouses several political views – like abolishing Ice, favoring a government jobs program and free college education – that make D.C. thinkfluencers nervous.

Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, was secretly trying to sell his struggling publication, the New York Observer, to two die-hard Hillary Clinton supporters soon after the presidential election, BuzzFeed reported Friday. According to the article, Kushner and Joseph Meyer, Observer Media’s chair, were looking to offload the paper to Clinton mega donor Haim Saban and David Brock, the founder of the progressive media watchdog, Media Matters. Saban confirmed to TheWrap late Friday that Kushner offered to sell him the Observer. (He initially told TheWrap no when asked if Kushner had offered him the paper.) Koch Industries has written a lengthy response to our feature story on the company in the latest issue of Rolling Stone. In tweets the company apparently paid to promote, Koch bills this write-up as a "point-by-point response to Rolling Stone writer Tim Dickinson's dishonest and misleading story." The salient feature of Koch's response is that the company does not argue the core facts of our 9,000-word expose. Instead, Koch targets the messenger. Koch's top target here is not even Rolling Stone, but me, Tim Dickinson.

Recently Jon Stewart received the attention of many Fox News personalities, and now it seems Media Matters founder David Brock and his organization are the new people of interest. This morning Juan Williams suggested Media Matters is trying to ruin people's lives, and now Fox News contributor Dr. Keith Ablow weighs in with his psychological profile of what exactly makes Brock tick.
