Viola Davis has had a very impressive acting career to date, racking up almost 100 screen credits over the course of the last 27 years and earning a long list of accolades – including an Oscar win for her performance in Fences and three other Oscar nominations for her work in Doubt, The Help, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. But she told IndieWire there’s something specific she wants to do that she hasn’t gotten the chance to do yet: she wants to star in a zombie movie.
Davis said, “A lot of things I haven’t done in my career. Listen, I would love to do a zombie movie. Now I say that, in shooting it, I don’t know if I can distinguish between the real and the fiction because if someone was running at me as a zombie, I don’t know. You might hear some stories. But...

The Netflix original series Hemlock Grove was a collaboration between the streaming service and producer/distributor Gaumont, and did not belong to Netflix in perpetuity – as evident from the fact that it was removed from the service last month. But if you were hoping to watch Hemlock Grove soon, we have good news for you: the independent free streaming network FilmRise had struck a deal with Gaumont to bring all three seasons (33 episodes) of the show to their service. Also part of the FilmRise and Gaumont deal is all three seasons (39 episodes) of the Thomas Harris-inspired series Hannibal!
Based on a novel by Brian McGreevy and executive produced by Eli Roth, Hemlock Grove follows the strange happenings in a fictional town in Pennsylvania. Roman Godfrey, heir to the town’s wealthy Godfrey family, befriends the town’s newcomer, Peter Rumancek. Recent brutal murders in the town have stirred up rumors,...

Netflix has come aboard Sir Paul McCartney’s long-gestating animated film High In The Clouds, which is based on the children’s adventure novel of the same title written by the iconic Beatles musician as well as Geoff Dunbar and Philip Ardagh. The project hails from French company Gaumont, which optioned the book back in 2012 after it had been in development since 2009.
Timothy Reckart, who earned an Oscar nomination for his 2012 animated short Head Over Heels and directed the 2017 animation film The Star, is directing High In The Clouds from a screenplay by Paddington scribe Jon Croker.
It’s a story of an imaginative teenage squirrel named Wirral who finds himself pulled into a ramshackle gang of teenage rebels who live high in the clouds after he accidentally antagonizes Gretsch the owl, the tyrannical leader (and fabulous singer!), who steals the voice of anyone who upstages her.

Call me a Howie Mandel fan, but I used to get a kick out of Bobby’s World, despite being aged out of the show when it originally aired. The show had a unique spin on the childish misadventure theme, all spawned via Bobby’s wild imagination, and it really seemed to celebrate childhood more than any other show I could (or can) think of.
