After a gap year, Solemani studied for a degree in Politics at the University of Cambridge. While at Cambridge, was vice-presidents of the Footlights.
Was awarded third place the Barry Amiel and Norman Melburn Trust/New Statesman Prize for New Political Writing on the subject: "Do women's rights remain the privilege of the developed world?" in 2005.
Former member of the National Youth Theatre.
Mother, with husband Daniel Ingram, of daughter Soraya Rae Ingram (b. December 18, 2013) and son (b. May 2018).
