The debut of David Spade’s new late-night program is drawing closer.
Comedy Central said the program, “Lights Out with David Spade” would debut after its signature “The Daily Show” Monday, July 29 at 11:30 p.m. eastern. The series, will follow Trevor Noah’s evening program Monday through Thursday each week.

For years, the Viacom-owned cable outlet has followed “Daily” with variations on its theme: comedic program that analyze the day’s social and political headlines. “Lights Out” will fill a place previously occupied by Stephen Colbert’s “Colbert Report,” Larry Wilmore’s “Nightly Show” and Jordan Klepper’s “The Opposition.”

Whitney Cummings will definitely have a show on the air in the fall on a network within the NBC Universal family. But probably not two.
E! announced Monday (April 30) that it has greenlit a weekly talk show called "Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings," which debut later this year. In the release announcing the show, Cummings says, "This show gives me a chance to get back to my stand-up roots. And I'm really excited to be able to say (almost) whatever I'd like on TV again. So thanks, E!"
Cummings' new show wouldn't necessarily preclude a second season of "Whitney" on NBC, but it's usually not a good sign when the star (and in this case, creator) of a show on the bubble takes another job. NBC and E! are both part of the NBC Universal conglomerate, so we have to figure there was at least some sort of inter-office discussion about it.

She’ll never be Chelsea Plugged unless she shows up on Sesame Street,’ says Katie Couric. But the comic, whose contract with E! expires in 2012, may be ready for a reinvention. ‘I can’t keep doing this show forever; it’s too stupid,’ she says.
‘It makes your brain melt.’ At times she has expressed interest in doing a serious, topical show or taking her program to a major network. ‘We’re both not really sure where she’ll be in five years,’ says her business partner Tom Brunelle, who declines to confirm reports that she’s been offered a network spot already.

Exclusive: After cranking out three bestsellers, E! Entertainment Chelsea Lately host Chelsea Handler has taken the next step forward. She has been given her own imprint by her publisher, the Hachette Book Group USA division Grand Central Publishing. The imprint, called Borderline Amazing/A Chelsea Handler Book, will kick off with Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me, a book that will be published May 2011. The imprint starts with a three-book deal. The second will ostensibly written under the byline of her long-suffering dog, Chunk (the pooch has a co-writer, who has been helping with a Twitter feed that apparently has a rabid following). Borderline Amazing Productions, the shingle she runs with Tom Brunelle, will oversee the publishing venture. Handler, who has become increasingly entrepreneurial since her E! show premiered in 2007, said the imprint gives her the opportunity to hatch books from some of the talent that appears on her show.

This could be the project Chelsea Handler has been talking about when tackling the rumor that she's dating 50 Cent. The funny lady tweeted earlier this month, "Everyone, calm down. I met with mr. Cent about a potential project. There's nothing to report yet, ill let you know if there is."
Now a confirmation has arrived that Handler will be featured in a half-hour comedy series on E! where her late night talk show, "Chelsea Lately", is airing. Called "After Lately", it will examine the backstage goings-on at "Chelsea Lately" in a vein similar to HBO's "The Larry Sanders Show." Words are, the story outlines will be based on semi-improvisation, just like HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm".
"The show is a behind-the-scenes look at what happens at our office when the cameras are off. ...A perfect platform for people who have no business being on camera," Handler told Daily Variety. That means...

HollywoodNews.com: Chelsea Handler is taking a cue from fictitious ‘90s talk show host Larry Sanders.
Handler is starring and producing “After Lately,” a half hour comedy show that hysterically portrays the backstage drama of her talk show, a la HBO’s “The Larry Sanders Show.”
The show will be improvised from story outlines versus concrete scripts; a story method used on the set of another HBO comedy, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
Per Variety, production will commence in a few weeks, but no premiere date has been set.
“The show is a behind-the-scenes look at what happens at our office when the cameras are off. … a perfect platform for people who have no business being on camera,” Handler told the trade.
Those starring on “After Lately,” include include Guy Branum, Sarah Colonna, Heather McDonald, Chris Franjola and Brad Wollack, who created the show with exec producers Tom Brunelle and Handler.

Already reshaping the scripted series production model with several internationally produced dramas, including "Mental", Fox TV Studios is now shaking things up on the reality side.
The company plans to film four to five unscripted pilots abroad this year, both for the local markets and the U.S.
The first two, game shows "Family Trust" and "Family Dance-Off", are being shot in Chile in partnership with actor Cristian De La Fuente's Chilean-based production company EFE3, which he co-owns with producer Rodrigo Flores.
Additionally, FtvS is in talks with broadcasters in Poland and Bulgaria on other formats.
The pilots for "Family Trust" and "Family Dance-Off" are being filmed in English and Spanish. Comedian Greg Fitzsimmons hosts the English version of "Family Trust", with Chilean TV personality Jose Miguel Vinuela, host of the local version of "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" on tap for the Spanish-language one.
Created by FtvS-based producer Matt Gaven and Tom Brunelle, each episode of "Family Trust" makes a family instant millionaires and then five family members battle to keep their fortune by answering questions about the world and one another.
