He’s still just a Regular Joe, Joe Rogan seemed to be saying on his Spotify podcast Tuesday.
Rogan was speaking with Mma fighter Josh Barnett who wondered, after his appearance on the massively popular show, “Is everyone going to pour over every single thing I say?”
“They will,” the host responded, “but it’s the same thing. It’s just a conversation.”
After a brief exchange about how The Joe Rogan Experience is “the biggest f*cking podcast in the world,” Barnett insisted that he told his wife he didn’t have to stress over his appearance on it because he knows Rogan is still just “my buddy.”
The host agreed.
“We’re the same,” he said.
Rogan then expanded upon the thought, relating it to fame, his podcast and, implicitly, the recent controversies over vaccine “misinformation” put forth by some of his guests and his own repeated use...

This year’s Cpac-afpac double feature was a multi-day spectacle that a single 2,000 word article could never describe in adequate detail. Over the course of three days, I witnessed enough absolutely bonkers shit to have leveled critical psychic damage on the most equanimous of monks. No amount of mindfulness meditation, Stella tall boys, or the finest CBD I could buy in the Free State of Florida was able to inure me to the effects of seeing Kevin Sorbo wearing a suit lined with his own Tweets. I was in the lion’s den,...

Last month, I wrote how the renewed push — and quite frankly, the reinvention — of Randy Orton’s character could be a force that helps stem the tide of WWE’s faltering ratings and viewership numbers. That’s proven to not be the case, as Raw and SmackDown seem to hit dangerous new lows on a weekly basis.
But that doesn’t mean Orton’s push has been a total failure.
Last night we saw another chapter in the return of “the legend killer.” After a victory over Kevin Owens in Raw’s main event, Orton and Ric Flair, who had been serving as his manager for a few weeks, had an emotional moment in the ring. Orton was upset that Flair’s ego forced him to fight Kevin Owens in the first place. Flair cut one of the most emotional promos we’ve seen on WWE television in some time,...

Match #1: The Young Bucks defeated The Butcher & The Blade The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
The crowd was firmly behind the Young Bucks, chanting for them. The Bucks showed off their tag team prowess with constant double maneuvers and quick tags. Mjf said the Bucks are phonies. “Where were they even trained? The Butcher and the Blade were trained by real greats like Les Thatcher and Josh Barnett!” The Butcher ran in like a locomotive off the rails and hit the Bucks with a double-clothesline. Nick gave a superkick to the Blade and then to the Butcher. The Bunny pulled Nick from the apron and the Butcher connected with a cross body block on the outside.

Premiering six years ago, almost to this date, at the Sundance Film Festival, Bellflower emerged as one of the most impressive indie features of 2011. A rough-and-tumble, low-budget production that was refreshingly difficult to categorize, we’ve been waiting to see what director-writer-producer-editor-star Evan Glodell would be taking on next. Arriving this summer is the latest film from Glodell’s Coatwolf Productions, Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins, and now the first teaser has arrived.
While it’s not directed by Glodell — that duty goes to Jonathan Keevil (composer, editor, and producer on Bellflower) — he stars in the film, which takes a more genre approach than their last project. Upping their scale, it’s set in a futuristic world where our titular heroes must save the planet. With impressive visuals, mixing very different styles, we’re looking forward to this videogame-influenced adventure.

Six years after making their mark at Sundance with “Bellflower,” the Coatwolf Productions team is back with the video game–inspired “Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins.” Written/directed by Jonathan Keevil and starring Evan Glodell (who wrote, directed and starred in “Bellflower”), the film looks even more manic than its predecessor. Watch the film’s first trailer below.

Should you have trouble discerning the plot, here’s the synopsis: “The Syndicate, an evil gang bent on world domination, summons a secret weapon from the heavens and breaks the long-standing truce with the San Diego family by kidnapping their sister and cutting off the town’s supply of Tatsui Power-Up Drinks. Now Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins must decide whether to fight — risking their lives, family and the future of Flat Earth — or...

"What do we do?" "We go in, and we kill everyone." Coatwolf Productions has unveiled a teaser trailer for their new film, titled Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins. This low-budget Mad Max-esque action thriller is inspired by side-scrolling video games and 1980's action. Coatwolf founder Evan Glodell plays Chuck Hank, who teams up with the San Diego Twins (Jonathan Keevil & Tyler Dawson) to stop The Syndicate, an evil gang bent on world domination that summons a secret weapon from the heavens. The cast includes David Arquette, Troian Bellisario, Michael Pare, Olivia Taylor Dudley, along with Mma fighters Don Frye and Josh Barnett. This looks stylish and crazy fun, it might actually be worth catching. Here's the teaser trailer for Jonathan Keevil's Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins, from YouTube: A turf war has been raging in Oldtown for generations. On one side, The Syndicate - an evil gang of crank-head misfits,...

Dave Bautista, former WWE champion, Mma fighter (he won his lone fight in 2012 by Tko), and actor has come out with some harsh words for apparel company Reebok following the Ufc on Fox 18 event this past weekend. Bautista, who is a big Mma fan and took the aforementioned pro fight in 2012 to test himself, took to Twitter to slam the company, and responded to a few fans in the process.
Reebok, it should be noted, is in a partnership with the Ufc to provide exclusive uniforms and “fight kits” to the Ufc. They are now the sole sponsor fighters can wear in the octagon, during weigh-ins, during walk-outs, and during fight week – meaning Ufc combatants have lost out on potentially thousands of sponsorship dollars since the deal took effect last Summer.
Bautista had the following to say about the matter:

Just one week after putting on a free bantamweight title fight at Ufc Fight Night 81 that saw Dominick Cruz successfully reclaim the title he was stripped of years earlier, the Ufc is back with Ufc on Fox 18, featuring a light heavyweight title eliminator between former challenger Anthony Johnson, and the underrated Ryan Bader.
While there is no title fight on the Ufc on Fox 18 card, there are plenty of big match-ups to be found: the network TV debut of surging young star Sage Northcutt, who at 19 is the Ufc’s youngest active fighter, a heavyweight clash of titans with title fight implications, and the aforementioned light heavyweight title eliminator, the winner of which will face the victor of Jones vs. Cormier 2. In short, there’s a lot of action, once again, on a free card.
The biggest questions will concern the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions, of course. Can...

Mercenary: Absolution is the latest direct to market offering from action superstar Steven Seagal and marks the sixth time Seagal has worked with director/producer Keoni Waxman, previous films including Force of Execution, A Dangerous Man as well as the fantastic Maximum Conviction. Waxman also helmed a number of episodes of Seagal’s TV show, True Justice (released here in the UK as a series of direct to DVD “movies” starting with Deadly Crossing).

The director of Mercenary: Absolution talks to us about international appeal, tough guys, and all things Seagal...
I’m Den of Geek’s go to guy for Steven Seagal movies and, as such, was very excited when the opportunity to interview Keoni Waxman arose. He’s directed six movies that have starred Seagal and worked on the TV series True Justice with the big man.
Not only was I excited to speak to Waxman because I like his films, I thought he’d be an interesting interview subject. While I understand that interviews with big Hollywood stars are more popular, I felt like I would have a chance to speak to someone that many Den of Geek readers wouldn’t know much about, and that he’d be able to offer us an interesting perspective on a part of the film industry that we don’t have much access to.

Steven Seagal and Vinnie Jones star in Mercenary: Absolution. Matt has compiled 10 reasons why it's the toughest movie of the year...
When Den of Geek published our Top 25 must see movies of 2015, we placed the upcoming Steven Seagal movie Mercenary: Absolution in the top spot. I assume. I wasn’t involved in writing that one and didn’t actually get around to reading it. I heard it was good, though, and so naturally assume Seagal took the top spot.
It’s proved a canny prediction as the film delivers. Well, it has some flaws, but I think it’s alright. If you’re a fan of modern Steven Seagal movies then this is one of the better ones. If you’re not a fan of modern Seagal movies, this list is guaranteed to convert you. I’d stake the Den of Geek editorial team’s reputation on it.

John Alexander (Steven Seagal) uses some MacGyver-esque skills, turning an ordinary cell phone into a bomb, in our exclusive clip from Absolution. If there is any lesson to be learned in this scene, it's to never pick up a phone that isn't yours, which mysteriously starts ringing as soon as you enter the room. This scene also features Adina Stetcu as Nadia, a young girl who John is trying to protect.

This action-thriller reunites Steven Seagal with director Keoni Waxman, who has directed the actor's last three films, Maximum Conviction, Force of Execution and A Good Man. As you can see in the footage below, these two action icons will do whatever it takes to come out on top.
