A man lighting himself on fire was captured on camera by CNN during the network’s live coverage of Donald Trump’s trial in New York City on Friday.
Though details are still emerging, the Associated Press reports that emergency crews rushed the individual away on a stretcher after extinguishing the blaze outside the court room where the jury had just been selected in Trump’s trial. It was a group effort to put out the fire, with multiple people seen rushing over to help contain it.

Donald Trump has weighed in, five weeks later, on Jimmy Kimmel’s recent turn as Oscars host — and his rant has Kimmel tempted to emcee the awards show once again.
On Wednesday morning, amidst his recently commenced criminal trial, Trump fired off a Truth Social post about “Stupid Jimmy Kimmel,” first incorrectly claiming that this year’s Oscars telecast suffered a “big ratings drop” with Kimmel as host. (The show actually drew its largest audience in four years.)

Donald Trump’s first criminal trial promises to be one of the most heavily reported legal affairs in American history, but the former president and his defense team already think they can get away with lying about what’s happening in the courtroom.
After leaving court on Monday following the first day of jury selection, Trump repeatedly claimed that Judge Juan Merchan had barred him from attending the high school graduation ceremony of his youngest son, Barron Trump, in May.

Update: Jury selection has ended for the day in Donald Trump’s hush money trial, with 11 people so far having gone through an extensive questionnaire. A total of 32 potential jurors were left in the courtroom.
After the prospective jurors left the courtroom, Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche requested that his client be excused from the proceedings on April 25. That’s the day that the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Trump’s claims of immunity from prosecution.
But Merchan rejected the request. “Arguing before the Supreme Court is a big deal, and I can certainly appreciate why your client would want to be there. But a trial in New York Supreme Court … is also a big deal,” he said, per a pool report. “I will see him here next week.”

Now that he’s of age, there’s speculation that Barron Trump wants to start making his own decisions. In fact, many believe that there’s a very good chance that he will start hitting the campaign trail with his father, Donald Trump. And there’s a good reason behind it, too. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Barron Trump Wants To Hit The Campaign Trail With Father Donald Trump
Donald Trump knows that his secret weapon is his family. One of the reasons why he won the election back in 2016 is because his children Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump, Jr, and Eric Trump were all very instrumental in doing the media rounds, attending campaign rallies with their father and promoting him as much as possible while also maintaining the family business.

Who is hosting The Daily Show this week?
If you said Jon Stewart you get 25 percent credit. For the other 75 you have to know the name Michael Kosta, because he’s following Stewart’s now-regular Monday night showcase with three nights behind the Tds desk this week, a role Kosta has been handling with some frequency in recent months.
Kosta is the self-described “big, straight, white male, standing there looking solid, doesn’t look too bad in a suit,” whose first piece on air for Tds was going around New York City encountering people who mistook him for Donald Trump Jr., as various shady guys with Russian accents handed him briefcases full of cash.
A joke, of course. Kosta doesn’t really look much like Junior. For one thing he’s in better shape. He used to be a professional tennis player.
Kosta could maybe be called a “host-in-waiting,” but...

Right-wing Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Florida) is on Donald Trump‘s shortlist as a potential vice presidential pick.
Donald is said to be one of Trump’s most trusted surrogates and has been a loyalist of the former president.
However, old posts from Donalds’ Facebook page show the representative criticizing Trump. In 2011, one of Donalds’ posts says, “Trump won’t run. Thank God!” The post referenced Trump’s decision not to run against former President Barack Obama.
Other posts of Donalds directly attacking Trump on social media and in interviews from 2011 to 2012. Donalds was a Tea Party member and ran for Congress at the time. Donalds called out Trump’s trade policies and his birtherism conspiracy theory about Obama.
In the past, Donalds supported the privatization of programs such as Social Security and Medicare, calling them “vouchers.”

Brian Teta, the executive producer of The View, has signed a new contract for the show that will keep him at the often buzzy daytime talker for the next four years.
The show has been up 3% in total viewers season to date, and has continued to top daytime talk shows and news programs in viewership and households. There are signs of an election-year influence in the uptick: The day after the Iowa caucuses, when ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jon Karl guested, the show’s 2.85 million viewers was its most watched telecast in nearly two years.
“Every time there’s a big moment in the news cycle, whether it’s the State of the Union, or a Republican debate or anything like that, I see a spike the next morning, even in pop culture world where it’s something like the Oscars,” Teta said. “People are tuning in to see...

When Donald Trump left his seat in the boardroom as the star of his long-running NBC reality series “The Apprentice” in 2015, in order to run for president of the United States, he had a clear successor in mind.
“I said, ‘The best person to hire would be Ivanka Trump,’” Donald Trump says. “I didn’t press it. But I felt Ivanka would have been by far the best person you could hire.”
Trump shares this revelation in a new book about his years as a reality star, “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” written by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh. The book peels back the curtain on how Trump’s decade playing an all-knowing mogul on TV shaped his image as a politician, ultimately catapulting him to the White House.

Retired Judge Barbara Jones, who was appointed last November as the independent financial monitor of the Trump Organization, has been given sweeping new powers to run the troubled company, much to its lawyers’ chagrin.
After Judge Arthur Engoron‘s ruling last month, Jones, a former mob prosecutor, is effectively running the company after Trump and his sons Eric and Don Jr. were barred from running companies in New York for a fixed period.
The judge ordered Trump and his company to pay $355 million in restitution for decades of business fraud.
The company is now appealing the bans and fines.
Jones was assigned to serve as the Trump Organization’s independent monitor by Judge Engoron at the recommendation made by New York Attorney General Letitia James in September 2023.
Trump’s lawyers have quickly turned on Jones as she has amassed ever-greater power over the company.

Trump Media & Technology Group, the newly formed company whose assets include nascent social media platform Truth Social, has reported 2023 revenue of $4.1 million and a net loss of $58.2 million.
The full-year figures were disclosed in new and revised SEC filings Monday. Investors pounced on the numbers, sending shares down more than 25% in mid-day trading. The stock’s movement is being watched closely because the company’s majority shareholder is Donald Trump, the former president who is poised to become this year’s Republican presidential nominee.
Last week’s public stock debut of Trump’s company, which was created via a Spac merger, gave Trump a paper windfall of more than $5 billion at a critical juncture. Shares in Truth Social parent Trump Media & Technology Group gave back most of their initial gains but still posted a strong debut on the Nasdaq, boosting the value of Donald Trump’s majority stake.
The start of trading for the stock, which resulted from a Spac merger finalized last week, was not accompanied by the usual Wall Street pageantry of an opening-bell ceremony or a gladhanding photo shoot. Still, a surge of initial interest in the stock Tuesday morning prompted market officials to briefly halt trading. Once it resumed, shares eventually cooled off after rising as much as 50%, though they still rose 16% on the day to finish at $57.99.
At that price, Trump’s roughly 60% stake in the company would be worth about $4.5 billion, a conveniently timed windfall given the former president’s many legal obligations. A judge on Monday gave him a reprieve in a civil fraud case in New York,...

Donald Trump Jr. pressed his father, former President Donald Trump, to select a “strong “fighter” as his running mate.
In an interview with the New York Post, Trump Jr. highlighted the importance of choosing the right vice president, wanting someone who can take a punch and hit back harder.
“What I want in that role is, I want a fighter,” stated Trump Jr., “I understand what they are going to throw at us.”
“In 2016, you needed someone to balance out [the ticket] — that’s where Mike Pence made sense, sort of the yin and yang, but [given] the vicious nature of the swamp and the insanity we see on a daily basis, you need someone who can take those hits,” he continued.

With a payment deadline of March 25 days away, former President Donald Trump has yet to come up with the $464 million bond he will need to pay. In the civil fraud case brought on by New York Attorney General Letitia James, Trump was found guilty of fraud, including wildly inflating the values of his properties including Mar-a-Lago and Trump Tower in order to obtain lower interest rates and better terms.
As part of the ruling, Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay $464 million within a 30-day timeframe. To secure the money, Trump and his team reached out to 30 surety firms but were denied each time. Trump has stated he will appeal the case.
With only days left until March 25, James is preparing to seize Trump’s properties, including his New York two estates. Court documents show that James has already filed the necessary paperwork to seize two New York properties.

Donald Trump‘s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was set to embark on a series of speaking events in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in July last year. Yet the tour has been plagued by continuous postponements, which has led to frustration among fans who await refunds.
The Down Under tour, which promised to draw large crowds, has faced numerous delays since its initial announcement. It was first rescheduled from July to September, then pushed back again to December and now lacks a confirmed date for the future.
The tour, originally advertised as a “landmark” event, featured former U.K. Independence Party leader Nigel Farage and Liberal senator Alex Antic as special guests. General admission tickets for the event ranged from $59 for students or concession holders to $89 for the general public. A high-priced private dinner event, priced at $2500, included a pre-show dinner with Trump Jr., a champagne reception, and front-row seating.

Donald Trump has criticized the Dolan family, owners of Cleveland’s baseball team, for their decision to rebrand the Cleveland Indians as the Cleveland Guardians.
At a campaign rally in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, Trump, 77, expressed his discontent with the team’s name change, which was approved shortly before he left office in January 2021.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that Donald Trump would stop giving military aid to Ukraine.
During an interview with a state-run media organization in Hungary, M1 on March 10, Orbán told the television presenter Tünde Volf-Nagy that Trump “has a very clear vision, which is hard to disagree with.”
According to the Hungarian prime minister, Trump “won’t give a penny to the Ukrainian-Russian war.”

Donald Trump Jr.’s passion project, Field Ethos, is a print magazine, website, retail store and travel agency designed to bring the great outdoors back to the average American.
Founded in 2021 by Trump Jr. and business partner Jason Vincent, “the great outdoors” focused lifestyle magazine attempts to show off a rugged way of life away from the mountains of content and media being pushed out into the world. A majority of articles posted on the site describe hunting adventures, fishing encounters and culinary experiences.
Field Ethos’s branding has a simple aesthetic that appeals to hunting and globetrotting connoisseurs with the wealth and time to afford expeditions and pricey gear – even the mugs in the Field Ethos store start at $29.
While Field Ethos is not considered a political platform, the magazine’s brand does align with many right-leaning views, particularly those of hunters who tend to be more conservative.

This marks the second time Trump Jr. has received an envelope containing an unknown white substance. According to his spokesperson, Andrew Surabian, “The test results of the substance came up inconclusive on what it was exactly, but officials on the scene do not believe it is deadly.”
The death threat referenced other family members, such as former president Donald Trump, along with Trump’s other children and his niece, Mary Trump.

Update, 3:57Pm: Donald Trump is going to have to sell a lot of Mar-a-Lago memberships to meet his debt to the state of New York.
With a final judgment officially entered today into the court docket on the now-$454 million fine the former president and family owe from his civil fraud trial, Team Trump is looking at interest of $114,554 a day.
“This judgment shall bear interest from the date of its entry at the statutory rate of 9% per annum,” wrote NY Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron yesterday in the document made public today (read it here).
Breaking it down, that’s $111,984 every 24 hours for the ex-Celebrity Apprentice host himself. The sum is based on the total judgment delivered by Judge Engoron of $354.9 million plus the $100 million already accrued in pre-judgment interest for the financial sleight-of-hand Trump, his sons and executives engaged in for decades with banks and more for favorable loans.

In a significant legal setback similar to Elon Musk’s recent court troubles, former President Donald Trump finds himself embroiled in an uncertain legal battle that threatens his castaway financial empire. Earlier in 2023, a U.S. judge ordered that Elon Musk must confront a lawsuit accusing him of deceiving former Twitter shareholders by failing to promptly disclose his investment in the social media platform.

In a significant legal blow to former President Donald Trump‘s business empire, New York Judge Arthur Engoron has ordered the former president to pay a staggering $355 million in penalties in a civil fraud case.
Engoron’s decision, outlined in a comprehensive 92-page ruling, comes after a months-long trial and marks a significant setback for Trump and his associates.
The case was brought forth by New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) in 2022 and alleged that Trump had manipulated his net worth on important financial statements to secure tax and insurance benefits falsely. These documents, which were used to obtain loans and deals by presenting the value of the Trump Organization’s assets, form the basis of the state’s claim of fraud. Engoron had already found Trump, the Trump Organization and several high-ranking executives, which included his adult sons, liable for fraud before the trial even began.

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) used a new appeals court ruling made against infamous pharma fraudster Martin Shkreli to support her bid to ban former President Donald Trump from New York’s real estate industry.
In a filing last week, James’ office told Judge Arthur Engoron, who presided over Trump’s civil business fraud trial, about the new appeals court ruling against Shkreli.
In this ruling, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a lower New York federal court’s order.
The order banned Shkreli for life from the pharmaceuticals industry due to his attempts to block competition for a drug, which he increased the price of by over 4,000% overnight in 2015.

Donald Trump‘s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was asked about Tucker Carlson being a potential vice presidential running mate with his father. Trump Jr. responded that the option was “on the table” in an interview on Newsmax.
Carlson is known for his commentary on Fox News but was fired following a settlement with Dominion Voting Systems that cost the network $800 million. The settlement came after a lawsuit against Fox News for spreading false information about the 2020 presidential election.
Carlson has then launched his own subscription-based streaming service called the Tucker Carlson Network.
He remains under a multimillion-dollar contract with Fox News, and the right-wing network sent him a cease-and-desist order over his new venture.
Trump Jr. also stated the nature of his father and Carlson’s relationship: “I mean they’re very friendly, I think they agree on virtually all of these things . . . And so, I would love to see that happen.

The “Trump Links” sign, named after former President Donald Trump, was removed from the Ferry Point golf course in New York City and replaced with a sign reading “Bally Links,” named after Bally’s Corporation.
This Bronx golf course was operated by the Trump Organization from 2015 to 2023.

Engoron ultimately denied Trump’s request after the former president refused to commit to solely addressing the facts of the case and refraining from any personal attacks.
The bomb threat caused delays in processing reporters and lawyers through security lines at the courthouse where the closing arguments were scheduled. Outside the courthouse, protesters briefly disrupted traffic with...

It looks like Donald Trump won’t deliver the closing argument in his New York fraud trial, after all.
Judge Arthur Engoron on Wednesday rescinded his decision to let the former president defend himself as the trial begins to wrap up on Thursday. The reversal came Trump’s lawyers wouldn’t agree to restrict their client’s defense to “relevant” and “material” matters. ABC News was the first to report on Tuesday that Trump wanted to personally deliver his closing argument, which certainly would have resembled a live performance of...

Monday brought another round of unsealed documents in the ongoing disclosure of files related to the sex-trafficking operation run by Jeffrey Epstein and his convicted co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell. And once again, right-wingers pounced on damning accusations against former president Bill Clinton. But the alleged Epstein victim who made those claims admitted in 2019 that she made them up.
“This seems like a big deal if true why has nothing been done about it?” tweeted Donald Trump Jr., sharing a headline that read: “Court documents allege Jeffrey Epstein recorded sex tapes of Prince Andrew,...

Four years after sex offender Jeffrey Epstein‘s suicide in jail, far-right conspiracy theorists remain enamored with the notion that he is key to proving that prominent Democrats comprise a secret pedophile cabal. And, with court documents related to a civil case against his human trafficking co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell starting to be unsealed Wednesday, many believe their political enemies are about to feel the sting of justice.
The material comes from a settled 2015 defamation suit brought against Maxwell by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre, with some mentioning public figures Donald Trump,...

Donald Trump made headlines when he attended a hearing in his New York fraud trial in December.
As he spoke to reporters outside the trial, Trump celebrated the fact that his daughter, Ivanka Trump, had been spared as a defendant in the case. However, his claim that he had already “won” the case in an appeals court was false.
The civil trial, presided over by New York State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, has already seen a summary judgment ruling against Trump that holds him liable for fraud. The current focus of the proceedings will determine the extent of punishment for the fraud committed.
The judge’s ruling, which is expected in January, could strip Trump of his New York real estate assets.
Trump criticized Judge Engoron while he praised a June decision by a New York appeals court to remove Ivanka as a co-defendant. However, Trump’s assertion that...
