Chris Appelhans, born May 19, 1971 in Idaho, is a director and production designer. His feature directorial debut was Sony Pictures Animation's Wish Dragon (2021). He also co-directed K-Pop: Demon Hunters (2025) with co-director Maggie Kang. He also wrote the screenplay for the movie and he wrote the screenplay for Wish Dragon which was released in June 2021. He joined Sony Pictures Animation in 2019 and made Wish Dragon.
