Jamie Dornan, known for his infamous role as Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Grey, was hospitalized with “heart attack symptoms,” after a toxic run-in with poisonous caterpillars during a trip to Portugal.
Dornan’s friend, Gordon Smart, who was also on the trip, was hospitalized for the same symptoms.
At first, the friends thought their symptoms were classic signs of one too many the night before.
After their conditions grew worse, they rushed themselves to the hospital. Doctors told them that their symptoms were caused by processionary caterpillars. These types of caterpillars have long hairs surrounding their body that cling to human skin very easily and spread their toxic proteins.
Dornan’s specific symptoms included “tingling in his left hand and tickling in his left arm” and made him believe it was “the sign of the start of a heart attack,” Smart told the podcast The Good, The Bad,...

Hollywood star Jamie Dornan said that he’s ‘lucky to be alive’ after he encountered toxic caterpillars during his holiday. The actor was on holiday in Portugal with friends when he started suffering from heart attack symptoms, which were most likely to have been caused by ‘toxic’ caterpillars.
He had to be hospitalised due to the pain, reports mirror.co.uk.
His friend also experienced some of the symptoms while they were at the golfing resort.
Doctors asked the actor’s friend how much they had to drink the night before concluding that the symptoms were caused by caterpillars.
“It turns out we’d brushed up against hairy processionary caterpillars and have been very lucky to come out of that one alive,” said Jamie’s friend Gordon Smart.
Speaking on The Good, the Bad and the Unexpected, Gordon explained how they had a ‘great’ first day at the hotel. Barely 24 hours later,...

Rupert Murdoch’s News UK has backpedaled on plans to launch a Fox News-style U.K. news channel. Instead, the venture will be reimagined as a streaming offering.
News UK CEO Rebekah Brooks outlined the company’s content strategy in a staff memo, seen by Variety. The long-time Murdoch associate explained that “the costs of running a rolling news channel are considerable, and it is our assessment that the payback for our shareholders wouldn’t be sufficient. We need to launch the right products for the digital age.”
The executive made clear that plans for a channel were ruled out early in an 18-month-long exploration of the country’s TV market. Instead, the company is pivoting to “to provide live and on-demand video to streaming platforms, using our existing brands and our ability to tell stories and break news.”

James Buckley has revealed that he misses making The Inbetweeners.
The actor - who played student Jay Cartwright in the E4 comedy - hinted that he has had second thoughts about filming more episodes or a second movie.
During an interview on Gordon Smart's Xfm show, Buckley said he misses hanging out with co-stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas and Blake Harrison.
He said: "There's no other job like it, every other job's quite serious. If we behaved like this on other jobs we'd get fired.
"They sort of let us muck about because then they capture the banter that you see on the screen. Whenever we have any contact, we just love to talk to each other because we're not on set with each other every day anymore.
"But I'm missing them, I'm missing those boys.
"I've said no in the past [to another series] but I do miss them."

Elton John slapped The Lumineers' drummer, Jeremiah Fraites, at the Grammy awards.
Frontman Wesley Schultz told radio host Gordon Smart the anecdote in an interview on Sunday. Turns out John's slap wasn't all that mean:
"We were nominated for two awards but didn't win. As we were walking in Elton John stopped us and said he has been listening to our album and was a fan. Our drummer said, 'There's no f--king way you are a fan!' Elton just slapped him in the face and put him straight. It was a special moment."
It's good the band got a "special moment" out of the Feb. 10 award show, as they did indeed go winless for the entire broadcast. They lost Best New Artist to pop rock band fun. and were bested in Best Americana Album by Bonnie Raitt's "Slipstream." The Lumineers performed during the broadcast.
John has kept busy since the Grammys,...

Christopher Maloney has denied that he was booed during a performance on the X Factor tour after shedding tears on stage.
The Sun reported that the 34-year-old got heckled at London's O2 Arena on Thursday (February 7) after he began crying.
The Liverpudlian singer, who came third in the competition last year, was alleged to have spoken about his "journey" and "ups and downs" twice within a four-song set.
However, tweeting at The Sun's Gordon Smart, Maloney wrote: "wot an absolute crock of s*@t u write in ur column 2day! wen will Sun Newspaper ever print the truth? never learn, lies again!"
He later added: "that's the sun newspaper for u, they hate people from Liverpool end of! xx"
Smart replied: "just landed back from La. I'm annoyed too. Why your name is even in my column is beyond me you talentless oxygen thief."

A grim day for morale at the Sun after another of its journalists was charged over alleged illegal payments to a public official. So what better way to raise spirits than by bringing in actor turned governor of California turned actor (again) Arnold Schwarzenegger to open the Sun's new TV studio and take part in a web video interview with Bizarre editor Gordon Smart. Armed with nothing more threatening than a pair of scissors to cut the red tape at the opening ceremony, the Terminator was plugging his first starring role in a decade in Last Stand. After an early hiccup about the lack of water in Arnie's Sun-branded mug – "what a beginning – empty!" – the two appeared to get on famously, although the Hollywood star did drop an unfortunate pre-watershed F-bomb. Smart, who's obviously been mugging up on his Ofcom broadcasting code, was quick to apologise, however. He'll be back?...

Today's extract from the updated edition of The phone-hacking scandal: journalism on trial* is by Chris Atkins, the man who made the Starsuckers documentary. His team fed fake celebrity stories to the tabloids, six of which ended up in print.
This is somewhat longer than usual, but the devil really is in the detail of the exchanges at the Leveson inquiry when reporters were questioned about their actions. Atkins begins with the performance of Gordon Smart, who runs The Sun's showbusiness pages, entitled Bizarre...
Two of our fake stories appeared without checks in Smart's column - one about film director Guy Ritchie injuring himself while juggling cutlery, and another claiming singer Sarah Harding [of Girls Aloud] was a secret fan of quantum physics.
Smart started off bullishly at the inquiry by defending his column: "I'd like to think that most of the time we get it right. Very occasionally we get it wrong.

A GQ editor has rushed to defend Michael Fassbender following reports he was kicked out of a showbiz party for drunken behaviour.
Fassbender was said to have been asked to leave after becoming "a bit of a handful" at the glitzy bash, hosted by the men's magazine following the premiere of A Dangerous Method in London on Tuesday.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper, "He was grabbing his co-stars and waltzing around the room with them. He lit a cigarette indoors and that was the point it had gone too far."
But Olivia Cole, a literary editor for GQ, has taken to her Twitter.com page to set the record straight.
She writes, "Dear (journalist) Gordon Smart of The Sun your story about Michael Fassbender at GQ's party on Tuesday is complete fiction. Check your facts. We were glad he was there and no one was asked to leave early, but hey, feel free to just make it up."...

If Kate Middleton's charmed life is ever adapted for the big screen, she needn't worry about what calibre of actress would be attracted to playing her on film.
Anne Hathaway who has in fact played a princess before says she wouldn't mind taking on the role at all.
At the premiere of her new movie, "One Day," in which she speaks with a decidedly Yorkshire accent (or so we're told), Hathaway was asked by the Sun's Gordon Smart if she'd consider playing the newly-minted Duchess of Cambridge.
"I haven't really thought about it before but yes, why not," said Hathaway. "She's great. It's such a fairytale."
Would you like to see Hathaway or another actress play Middleton on film? And, since we're going there, who should play bonny Prince William?...
