Gregory Wayne Benoit was born at the Naval Air Base in Pensacola,
Florida. To Wayne and Theresa Benoit. Eager to see films such as
"Jaws"at just five years old. Too young to see "Jaws" Greg's first
movie seen in a theater was "Snoopy Come Home". At age six he then
moved with his parents and Sister Anne to San Diego, California. Once
on a trip to Hollywood to visit Universal Studios with his family Greg
took a interest in film making. The film that inspired Greg was the 1977
George Lucas film "Star Wars". Form the age of twelve Greg made films with his fathers
super 8 film camera that he had purchased at a garage sale for only two
dollars. Greg showed and interest in special effects. He studied his
favorite director Steven Spielberg and is a big fan of Industrial
Lights and Magic. Greg made numerous short films "Wilderness
Survival", "Strange Flesh", "Man at the Window". Greg used friends and
family to be in his short films. He would then set up a movie screen
and chairs in his garage and charge fifty cent for the neighbors to see
the films he had made. Not until college, Greg went on to learn music,
acting, and film making. He then moved to Las Vegas with the notion
that he would soon go off to London to attend film school,but was not
accepted to the college. He then attended the College of Southern
Nevada film school after a friend recommended it to him. While in film
school Greg made the student film "First Flight","Words of Courage".
The film "Words of Courage went on to win a semi-final spot in the
Action/Cut Film festival in Hollywood. After film school. Greg is now
working as a director and a director of photography on various films
and music videos. Greg's Favorite genre is Westerns, witch he plans to
make in the near future. Greg has a strong faith in God and
incorporates the two. He hopes to make heartfelt lasting films. He has
just finished as a director of photography A feature film called
"Pitching Hope" and as a director a short called "Chase for the Crown".
Greg's favorite Actresses are Dana Delany (China Beach), Marilyn Monroe,
and Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) who he was on set with for the making of
the next Jason Bourne film Starring Matt Damon and Directed by one of Greg's favorite directors Paul Greengrass.
Greg is supporting a short film at the High Dersert Film Festival "Long Long Ago" which he was Director of Photography.
He also directed a film Phantom Patriot "Attack on Area 51" due out this February.
Currently Working on his next feature film a World War 2 drama.
