Could there be a JoLink baby on the horizon? A promo for the April 11 episode of Grey’s Anatomy certainly hints that Jo (Camilla Luddington) might be pregnant. “I’m late,” Jo tells Link (Chris Carmack) in the Season 20 Episode 5 sneak peek. This article contains spoilers for Grey’s Anatomy season 20 episode 4.
Fans were introduced to the character of Dr. Arizona Robbins, portrayed beautifully by Jessica Capshaw, back in season 5 of Grey’s Anatomy. Over the years, many felt seen through the character because, as the actress wrote on her Instagram, Arizona was one of the first members of the LGBTQ+ community to be represented in a series regular role on network television, making her impact on the world “permanent and forever.” So when her character left in the season 14 finale, it left a big hole in the medical drama.
Thankfully, she wasn’t killed off. Instead, Arizona decided to move to New York for the sake of her daughter, who needs both of her parents. She teams up with Dr. Nicole Herman (Geena Davis) to start the Robbins/Herman Center for Women’s Health, where she will perform fetal surgery, and launch her maternal mortality prevention program.

Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for its record-breaking 21st season. Although this may sound like good news, fans of the medical drama megahit are not happy. The fans feel as if the show has run its course and it is time for it to end. The stars of Grey’s Anatomy may feel the same way and it has been suggested the show start preparing for members of the cast to leave.
Shondaland Should Get Smaller
Fans of Grey’s Anatomy are over it. They no longer want the ABC medical drama, created by Shonda Wilson, to continue. Their reasons vary from fan to fan, but the consensus appears most of them will be willing to say to say goodbye to the show.
The debate about when Grey’s Anatomy “jumped the shark” has been up for debate for quite some time now. That debate is moot. The series has been renewed for another season.

Grey’s Anatomy continues to be in a league of its own, landing a renewal for a 21st season. The pickup, which comes three episodes into Grey’s Anatomy‘s landmark 20th season, extends its record as the longest-running primetime medical drama, which it initially set in 2019, and the longest-running ABC primetime scripted series. I hear Season 21 is expected to consist of 18 episodes, up from the 10-episode strike-impacted 20th season.
The early renewal is a testament to the show’s ability to reinvent itself and stay relevant even with its lead, Ellen Pompeo, not being on-screen full-time as a new group of interns was introduced last season. Pompeo continues to recur in addition to serving as an executive producer and providing the voiceover that opens and closes each episode.

This article contains spoilers through Grey’s Anatomy season 17.
Dr. Alex Karev, brought to life by Justin Chambers, is one of Grey’s Anatomy’s most dynamic characters, permanently leaving a mark on the series even after his exit. While he started off as a jerk back in season one, he quickly became a fan favorite as we peeled back the layers of who he actually was.
Against all odds, he didn’t just survive his time at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, but thrived. Not only was he Meredith’s person after Cristina left, but he was there for all other characters when they needed someone over the years. Then entered Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington), who he fell deeply in love with and eventually married. So why did he suddenly leave in season 16 and why was it such an awful ending for the character? Let’s break it down.

“Grey’s Anatomy” hit the reset button in the aftermath of its traumatic Season 19 finale, including the exit of one of their own. By the end of the Season 20 premiere, Dr. Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman) announced he’d be leaving Grey Sloan Memorial to reunite with Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) at her new home in Boston.
His last move as residency director was passing the torch to the now Catherine Fox award-winning Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), effectively bringing the series back to basics with her taking charge of teaching the hospital’s latest class of interns.
“I feel like if anyone can bring these interns back from what just happened, it’s the person who helped create doctors like Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang and Alex Karev,” showrunner Meg Marinis told TheWrap. “Bailey doesn’t always get the credit that she deserves.

Grey’s Anatomy is headed into its 20th season, and that big milestone is front and center in the series’ official poster, which features cast members arranged around the number 20. Like last year’s official cast photo, this year’s poster includes the main cast, plus recurring guest stars Debbie Allen (who is also Grey’s executive producer/director) and Scott Speedman. (The only person missing from last year’s group is Kelly McCreary who exited the series last season.)
Naturally, the three remaining original cast members, Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr., are most prominent.(As Deadline reported in our Season 20 preview, Pompeo, who is an executive producer, will continue to get top billing. If you thought Grey’s Anatomy was losing its luster, the official trailer for Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 will wash away those concerns.
With new episodes set to get underway on Thursday, March 14, at 9/8c, ABC is kicking off the promotional train relatively early.
The first footage teases plenty of big storylines, including Ellen Pompeo’s return as Meredith Grey and the fate of one of Grey Sloane Memorial’s most popular faces.
While it’s unclear how many episodes Pompeo will be back for, it’s interesting that we’re getting so many spoilers about where her storyline will be at.
As you’ll recall, Meredith left Seattle for Boston, but there were still plenty of questions about where she would go next, including her romantic life.
Of course, we’ve watched her relationship with Nick (Scott Speedman) and its ups and downs.

She’s baaack! Ellen Pompeo‘s on-screen status as Meredith Grey in the upcoming 20th season of “Grey’s Anatomy” has remained a mystery … up until now. The actress was always expected to do the voice-over narration for the new episodes, but what about actually appearing on TV’s longest-running primetime medical series ever? Well, the mystery has been solved thanks to ABC’s just-released “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 20 video trailer (watch above).
“How long do I have to wait?” Meredith asks at the start of the 60-second promo. The answer for fans is exactly 43 days, because the first of the 10 new episodes will premiere on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Note that Season 20 was delayed until mid-season due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes of 2023 — see the cast list.

Updated With Trailer: ABC is preparing audiences for the return of Grey’s Anatomy.
Dr. Meredith Grey is front and center in the new teaser for Season 20, despite Ellen Pompeo moving to a guest star role to make time for her Hulu limited series Orphan. While Meredith might have moved to Boston at the end of Season 19, it appears she’ll be making a few trips back to Seattle to visit Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in the upcoming episodes.
The teaser opens with Meredith seemingly asking Miranda Bailey, “How long do I have to wait?” — although, it’s not clear what she’s waiting on. In another interaction, Bailey tells Meredith that the interns “are in trouble.”
Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman) is also back at Grey Sloan and hovering over the interns after the Season 19 finale when he and Meredith professed their feelings for each other in Boston. Speaking of the interns,...

It’s hard to believe Grey’s Anatomy has been on the air for almost 20 years.

With Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 just around the corner, it’s time to take a look at everything we know about the milestone season.
We even have an update on Ellen Pompeo’s return as Meredith Grey.
Get all the details below.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 20: when will it premiere?
The medical drama will return from an extended hiatus on Thursday, March 14, at 9/8c.

When news emerged that Grey's Anatomy Season 20 production was underway, there was a big question mark over Ellen Pompeo's name.
After departing as a series regular during Grey's Anatomy Season 19, Meredith Grey returned with professional and personal breakthroughs later that season.
Her story was seemingly at its end, but Pompeo had been adamant about coming back here and there following her exit.
And it seems she still has a soft spot for Meredith and her former colleagues because she's lined up more than one appearance in the upcoming season.
The news came courtesy of costar and director Debbie Allen, who was asked by Entertainment Tonight about Pompeo's status on the call sheet.
"Miss Thing is there, honey," enthused Allen.
"She's in the first episode, and she's in the one I'm going to direct.

We'll be old and gray before Grey's Anatomy ends!
Grey's Anatomy continues to make records and hold its own as a cultural juggernaut in the television landscape as it comes off 19 seasons on the air.
And while there has been a revolving door cast over the past nearly two decades, including the titular main character, Meredith Grey herself, it shows no signs of slowing down.
One of the most exciting aspects of Grey's Anatomy Season 19 is how the series found a way to reinvent itself.
It served as a reboot within the series, and the show pulled it off remarkably well with a fresh batch of interns who have already made their mark and feel like the next generation of this series.
No one could've anticipated that a new version of Og "M.A.G.I.C" conveniently, also "M.A.G.Yk" could bring back the familiar vibes of Grey's Anatomy's heyday,...

With the conclusion of Grey's Anatomy Season 19, there's a big question about which cast members will return for Grey's Anatomy Season 20.
Thankfully, we have some answers.
Deadline revealed Thursday evening that James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson will be back as Richard and Bailey, respectively.
The move means they will become the longest-serving series regulars as they are the only two remaining cast members who have been with the medical drama since the start.
Kevin McKidd, who joined the cast during Grey's Anatomy Season 5, will return as Owen.
Kim Raver, who first appeared on Grey's Anatomy Season 6 and returned in Season 14 after a five-year break, will return as Teddy.
The Raver news being revealed months before production is set to get underway, given that Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Episode 20 concluded with Teddy's life on the line after collapsing.

As Season 19 came to an end Thursday (May 18) night, ABC has confirmed that Grey’s Anatomy will return for a landmark 20th season, and several longtime cast members are sticking around. While cast contract negotiations often extend into the summer, Deadline reports that this time around, deals were settled relatively quickly, with all the fan favorites set to return as series regulars for Season 20. That includes James Pickens Jr. as Richard and Chandra Wilson as Bailey, the only two remaining cast members who have been with the medical drama since the very start. Kevin McKidd, who joined the show in Season 5, will return as Owen. And Kim Raver, who first appeared in Season 6 and returned in Season 14 after a five-year break, will be back as Teddy. In addition, Camilla Luddington, a cast member since Season 9, will return as Jo, and Caterina Scorsone, who has been a regular since Season 10, will be back as Amelia.

[This story contains spoilers to the season 19 two-episode finale of Grey’s Anatomy, “Wedding Bell Blues/Happily Ever After.”]
The two-hour conclusion to Grey’s Anatomy’s 19th season welcomed back two of its recently departed doctors, and left another character’s fate up in the air.
After exiting the hit ABC medical drama as a series regular earlier in the season, Ellen Pompeo made her anticipated return during the May 18 two-part finale, “Wedding Bell Blues/Happily Ever After.” The episode split its time between the veteran cast and the younger batch of interns, with the main storyline centering around Simone’s (Alexis Floy) wedding day and the young doctor ultimately calling off her nuptials and choosing Lucas (Niko Terho). With the wedding as the backdrop, love was in the air for many of the characters — including Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Link (Chris Carmack), who finally vocalized their love for one another.

Be afraid. Be very afraid. We already know that the Season 19 finale of Grey’s Anatomy is going to break our hearts (thank Kevin McKidd and Camilla Luddington for the heads-up). And since Catherine’s cancer has progressed, there would seem to be a good chance that we — and her adoring husband — will lose her.
What lies ahead is “something that’s really going to test Richard like maybe nothing before has up to this point,” Og James Pickens Jr. told TVLine at the ABC drama’s recent PaleyFest panel. “His focus is going to be ushering her on and cheerleading her.

Better keep those defibrillator paddles charged, Grey’s Anatomy fans. The ABC drama’s Season 19 sendoff is going to be a doozy, Kevin McKidd told TVLine at the show’s recent PaleyFest sit-down. “It’s a two-hour finale this year, and I’m directing the first hour of that. It’s going to be a big one.”

Caterina Scorsone is opening up about a horrifying experience she and her family went through recently. In an April 3 Instagram post, the "Grey's Anatomy" star revealed that her house caught fire several months ago and she had to rescue her three kids in a matter of minutes before the whole place went up in smoke.
"While getting my kids ready for bed and finishing bath time, smoke began to seep up through the grout around the tub," Scorsone wrote in a caption. "When I looked down the hallway a river of thick black smoke had already formed and was filling the house. One thing about fires: they happen fast. I had about two minutes to get my three kids out of the house, and we escaped with less than shoes on our feet. But we got out."
Scorsone said that, unfortunately, the family lost their pets in the fire.
