"I See You" defies expectations. What begins as a typical crime thriller mutates into something more intricate and profound. Devon Graye penned the script, blending together social commentary on child abuse, infidelity, police corruption, and homelessness. At the heart of the film is the concept of phrogging -- when a person or persons secretly squat inside someone else's home. Director Adam Randall elevates the film with long static shots, emotional character close-ups, and methodical dolly glides. The camera work here takes on a life all its own. But let's not forget the film's chill-inducing score, courtesy of composer William Arcane, which punctuates the film's vital and mouth-dropping moments.
Initially, "I See You" arrived in theaters in late 2019 and grossed just over $1 million at the box office. But when the film hit Netflix, it went viral -- scoring top slots in the streamer's daily Top 10 list. As we revisit this harrowing movie,...

I See You has all the makings of an excellent thriller, including a cast consisting of established Hollywood stars and up-and-coming talent. The 2019 movie follows a detective investigating a mysterious disappearance while seemingly supernatural events begin to happen to his family. Following its premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival, I See You was released on VOD in the U.S. without theatrical distribution. Fortunately, I See You's true story connection and realistic nature make the movie more frightening than a typical straight-to-video horror film, and it's become a modern horror cult classic.
Critics also praised I See You, particularly in recognition of its actors, with veterans like Helen Hunt elevating the movie beyond the restrictions of the indie horror genre. Its expertly crafted narrative unfolds with unquestionable tension, and the performances from the cast help to sell every twist and turn that the movie throws at the audience.

The 2019 film I See You shares striking similarities with a real-life murder case. The film tells an eerie story of two young adults living in the Harper house without the family's knowledge. The act is called phrogging, which is similar to squatting, the difference being phrogging is when individuals live in an occupied property, while squatting is living in an unoccupied or abandoned property. The film features two perspectives, beginning with the family's story and then switching halfway through to the phroggers, Alec (Owen Teague) and Mindy (Libe Barer.) Mindy is recording the two of them in the Harper house and seemingly making a documentary.
However, Alec has darker motives and wants to mess with the family by moving things around to make them think they're going insane. Before Alec and Mindy are revealed, it seems as if something supernatural is going on. However, it was actually the phroggers doing...

Alec's frog mask in I See You is significant to the theme of the film. I See You showcases two different perspectives on the mysterious occurrences at the Harper household during a time when young boys are going missing. The first half of the film follows Jackie Harper (Helen Hunt), her son Connor (Judah Lewis), and her husband Greg (Jon Tenney) dealing with what's going on in their neighborhood and household. One occurrence is when Todd, who Jackie had an affair with, shows up at her house to try and get back together, and a mug falls from the roof and hits him.
Jackie believes it was Connor who threw the mug out of anger because Todd ruined their family. However, when the film switches perspectives, we learn Alec (Owen Teague) was the one to throw the mug because he and his friend Mindy (Libe Barer) are phroggers who have...

“The Beyonder is just wacky, silly, fun,” says Laurence Fishburne of his smooth supervillain in this exclusive clip from the next episode of “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.” The character makes his debut in the Disney+ series on Saturday, Feb. 25.
“He comes to Earth in search of the smartest person who can teach him what humanity is all about. "You embody everything that is wrong with your gender." Voltage Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for a romantic comedy called Beautiful Disaster. Now set to open in US theaters this April, along with many other countries around the world. Adapted from Jamie McGuire's novel of the same name, the story is about two lovers - "bad-boy" Travis is exactly what freshman Abby wants and needs to avoid. He spends his nights fighting in underground boxing matches, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. But Abby wants nothing to do with Travis. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis' apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea he has met his match.

Review: Since Marvel Studios rose to power in Hollywood, comic book animated series have varied wildly in quality. While DC and other companies have successfully adapted their titles, Marvel Comics-inspired animated projects have been all over the place.
