Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson has just been announced, and the news has shocked the whole social media, boxing community, and Mma community.
From X (formerly Twitter) to Instagram, there is a flood of posts regarding the fight which seems absolutely unwanted at this point. The boxing fight is scheduled to take place on July 20th, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Mike Tyson, for those who don’t know, is a legendary heavyweight boxer with a record of 50–6–0–2 with 44 KOs.
Iron Mike is considered as the best heavyweight boxer of all time, but unfortunately he is now 57 years old, and retired years ago.
Mike’s last professional fight was in 2005, after which he announced his retirement; he then made a return to the ring in 2020 and fought fellow retired professional boxer Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout.

Netflix’s move into live sports continues. The streamer is weighing in to the boxing arena with a fight between heavyweight legend Mike Tyson and upstart Jake Paul.
The streamer will air the fight, which takes place at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday July 20.
It is the company’s latest foray into the live sports field, which launched with golf tournament The Netflix Cup and continued with tennis tournament The Netflix Slam, featuring a match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, earlier this month.
There have been reports over the last six months that Netflix was eyeing boxing as one of its next routes into sports. Boxing has previously tended to be pay-per-view but there will be no additional cost for the fight on Netflix.
Paul started his boxing career in 2018 with a fight against Deji Olatunji and his professional debut was in 2020 against AnEsonGib.

YouTuber-turned-boxers Jake Paul and Logan Paul who are popularly known as the Paul Brothers, have created a lot of noise in the boxing industry since their debut in 2020 and 2018 respectively.
The elder brother Logan made his boxing debut back in 2018 against another popular YouTuber and Boxer Ksi, the fight ended up in a draw and to everyone’s surprise, the fight was a complete sellout in the Manchester Arena.
Logan even made his WWE debut back in 2021 and last month he beat Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel to become the new United States Champion. Meanwhile, the younger brother Jake Paul has been knocking out some popular names left, right, and centre.

Tommy Fury claimed victory in a highly anticipated boxing match against Jake Paul on Sunday by a split decision.
The British professional boxer and social media influencer-turned-boxer met in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. According to ESPN, although Paul put up a solid fight in the eight-round match, and even with Fury being knocked down in the final round, the Love Island star managed to outbox his opponent through the end.
“This is my first main event,” Fury said after the fight. “I’m only gonna go stronger, I’m gonna go bigger, I’m only gonna go better. … if he wants a rematch, bring it on.”
Tommy Fury
The match comes after years of calls on social media for the younger Paul brother to fight a “real” boxer. Paul has previously taken on and won against AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva — all of whom aren’t professional boxers.

Jake Paul, former Disney Channel star and now trained fighter, is no stranger to controversy and defending himself in the ring. But in his one-on-one interview on “Game Theory” with Emmy-winning journalist, Bomani Jones, Paul found himself against the ropes looking for someone to throw in the towel. Instead, it was the former Disney Channel star who ended the uncomfortable moment with the slamming of his laptop and a “have a nice f—ing day.”
The interview that started off so well veered off track and into the bushes after Jones’ 12-minute monologue rehashing Paul’s career path from a social media influencer to a trained pro fighter and now the owner of a new sports betting app, BetR. But there was one clip that Jones was not thrilled about putting on display (even though he did) — when Paul knocked out former NBA basketball player, Nate Robinson, in the ring.

The social media star and now professionally trained fighter, Jake Paul, is gearing up for his next boxing match against Tommy Fury, but the gloves were on in a teaser clip of his upcoming interview on HBO’s “Game Theory with Bomani Jones.”
“After Tommy Fury, where do you go from there? Like what happens if you lose one of these fights?” Jones questioned Paul in a teaser clip for an upcoming episode. Paul responded seemingly taking offense to Jones’ inquiry.
“I don’t plan on losing. I don’t train to lose. I feel like that’s probably like, your mindset. You know, a lot of people try to project their mindsets,” Paul responded back.

Controversial YouTuber-turned-pro boxer Jake Paul has taken home his fourth straight win, defeating former UFC champ Tyron Woodley via a split decision last night in Cleveland.
The win was not as decisive -- or quick -- as Paul’s previous knockouts against the likes of former NBA star Nate Robinson and former Mma world champion Ben Askren. Paul noted in a post-fight press conference that it was the first time that he’d fought for longer than four minutes, into eight rounds.
ESPN notes that, in the fourth round, Woodley delivered a massive blow that threw Paul against the ropes -- though the 24-year-old was able to rally, remaining dominant throughout the rest of the bout.

TrillerNet, the parent company of micro-video TikTok competitor Triller, has launched an Nft Marketplace, as well as its first-ever token sale surrounding Jake Paul’s upcoming boxing match, which is set to air on the platform as a pay-per-view event next week.
TrillerNet says its marketplace -- developed in partnership with consumer engagement platform Amplify -- will live at nft.triller.co. The platform “is based on peer-reviewed, audited Ethereum blockchain infrastructure, and aims to become one of the largest open and interoperable global marketplaces for NFTs,” TrillerNet says.
To kick off the launch, the company is auctioning off a set two Nft tokens. The first token is a 30-second clip of the instant in which Paul delivered a knockout blow to NBA star Nate Robinson during Triller’s first-ever Fight Club boxing event last November. The second will comprise the winning 30 seconds from Paul’s upcoming fight against Ben Askren...

Fans of the fight game may not take Jake Paul seriously, but all signs point to his commitment to professional boxing being legitimate.
The majority of people who have heard of Paul likely came to know him through his time as a Disney actor, rapper, or YouTube personality. It’s the foundation of his polarizing celebrity status, and now he’s trying to parlay that into a fighting career.
Whether you love him or hate him, Paul can’t be deemed unsuccessful. His YouTube channel has more than 20 million subscribers.

While the much-anticipated exhibition bout between long-retired boxers Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. ended in a draw, it was Snoop Dogg that emerged as the event’s unanimous winner Saturday thanks to the rapper’s commentary during the fight.
Snoop Dogg — who previously teased his play-by-play abilities during a broadcasting booth cameo at a Los Angeles Kings game in January 2019 — was widely praised on social media for his entertaining contributions to an otherwise moribund fight that featured more clutching and hugging than actual punching between the over-50 heavyweights.

American sports comedy, “Uncle Drew” has netted itself a theatrical release in mainland China, where basketball is a major sport. It will be released in Chinese cinemas on Jan. 11, 2019.
Starring hoops legend Kyrie Irving in the title role, the film delivers a story about a team of old-time ball players who pull together for one last tournament. It also stars Chris Webber, Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller and Nate Robinson.
“Uncle Drew” was originally a digital episodic series, conceived by Pepsi. The movie version, directed by Charles Stone, was produced by Temple Hill in association with PepsiCo’s Creators League Studios. Released by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment in North America in June, the film racked up $42.5 million stateside.
The Middle Kingdom outing is likely to significantly swell the film’s score outside North America, which to date stands at a lowly $2.4 million, with fully a third of that coming from Chinese-administered Hong Kong.

“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is continuing to top the box office with an estimated $59 million from 4,485 North American locations in its sophomore frame.
The number marks a roughly 60% decline from its opening weekend of $148 million, which marked the 20th-best of all time. The Chris Pratt-led tentpole has reeled in $204.8 million domestically for Universal and about $809 million worldwide. Only 25 films have topped the $60 million domestic mark in their second weekends.
Looking to land the second place slot is Disney-Pixar’s third weekend of “Incredibles 2,” with an estimated $44 million. The animated superhero film has been a box office smash for Disney, earning $407 million domestically and $156.9 million internationally. The film opened to $182 million, outstripping “Finding Dory” to achieve the biggest opening weekend of all time for an animated film.
“Sicario: Day of the Soldado” is aiming for an estimated $18.2 million debut from 3,055 theaters, which would hand it third place.

Chicago – Sometimes, you just want to escape to the surreal “Land of The Feel Good,” where all relationships work themselves out and all results are victorious. “Uncle Drew” is that film for this pre-holiday weekend, and although this basketball comedy is not a slam dunk, it certainly hits several heart-and-soul points.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
Chicago comedian and actor Lil Rel Howery is the glue of the film, portraying the coach of a team old guys from the 1960s – actually current and ex-NBA/Wnba stars in old folks makeup – and taking them to the Rucker Classic, an actual playground tournament that is the stuff of legend. The film is loaded with classic African American culture… the barbershop, going-to-church and the playground b-ball court… but it also works as a sports comedy, as the old dudes play at a pro ball level behind their makeup, which makes the on-court action as strange as a fairy tale.

Sony’s “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” has opened with a solid $2 million at 2,669 North American locations on Thursday.
The sequel topped Lionsgate’s basketball comedy “Uncle Drew,” which scored $1.1 million at 2,200 sites in previews.
Universal’s sophomore frame of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is expected to dominate the weekend with $60 million to $75 million. The Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard-led tentpole has pocketed $193.4 million in its first six days domestically and about $800 million worldwide.
Disney’s third weekend of “Incredibles 2” will finish in second place with $40 million to $50 million. The animated sequel has taken in a blockbuster $384 million in its first two weeks domestically.
Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro return in the action-drama “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” — a sequel to 2015’s “Sicario.” Box office prognosticators have predicted an opening between $10 million to $13 million at 3,055 locations. That’s on par with the original film, which debuted...

Alejandro Gillick (Benicio del Toro) has returned to Mexico — and movie theaters — with Columbia’s “Sicario: Day of the Soldado,” the sequel to Denis Villeneuve and Taylor Sheridan’s 2015 acclaimed thriller “Sicario.” Opening at 2,669 locations, the film made $2 million on Thursday from preview screenings.
Comparisons to the first “Sicario” are somewhat difficult, as that film had a two week run in limited release before expanding wide. However, the first “Sicario” did have a wide opening weekend of $12.1 million, and Sony is projecting that “Soldado” will match that amount.

Meanwhile, with a cast led by “Get Out” breakout star Lil Rel Howrey and NBA ace Kyrie Irving, Lionsgate’s “Uncle Drew” entered into theaters on Thursday night and earned $1.1 million in preview screenings from 2,200 locations. The film will expand to 2,749 screens for opening weekend.

So, this Summer a popular kids’ game has made it to the big screen: Tag, though the R-rated comedy isn’t for the smaller set. Well, why not release a flick about a real sport, one that the kiddos love, say basketball? Yes, it’s the subject of comedies and dramas, from Hoosiers to White Men Can”T Jump to Semi-pro. But here’s something that sets this new flick apart. It’s a big screen adaptation, but not from a comic strip, comic book, novel, or TV show. Hmmm, it does have its roots on the tube, though it’s an expansion of a popular commercial campaign. Kind of like that 90’s cult classic, Space Jam. We’re not talking shoes this time, the ads (that date back six years) hawked a soft drink, Pepsi Max. Sure those spots are fun, but will movie audiences want to spend more...

The June box office will close with a roar.
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” will easily top the weekend again, while newcomers “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” and “Uncle Drew” eye modest double-digit openings.
The second weekend of “Fallen Kingdom” will bring in another $60 million to $75 million. The Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard-led tentpole has pocketed $729.8 million worldwide to date, including $567 million overseas. “Fallen Kingdom” is the sequel to 2015’s “Jurassic World,” which made $106.5 million in its sophomore frame. That film had a bigger launch, however, opening to a franchise-best $208.8 million in North America. The dino blockbuster went on to top $652 million domestically and $1 billion globally. The second should also clear the $1 billion mark.
Meanwhile, Josh Brolin is back on the big screen before he even left. The Academy Award-nominated actor, who led two of this summer’s biggest blockbusters (“Avengers: Infinity War” and “Deadpool 2”) is reteaming with...
