True Blood's Rutina Wesley is about to sink her teeth into some marginally heavier fare than Alan Ball's steamy vampire soap on HBO. The actress has just been set up with a new project called Left To Tell, a biopic of Rwandan genocide survivor Immaculee Ilibagiza.

Rutina Wesley to star in Rwandan biopic
Rutina Wesley has landed the role of Immaculee Ilibagiza in a forthcoming biopic about the Rwandan genocide survivor's life. The True Blood actress will star in Left to Tell as Ilibagiza, a Rwandan woman who spent 91 days in the bathroom of a local pastor's house alongside seven other women during the 1994 Rwandan genocide campaign, according to Deadline. Ilibagiza went into the bathroom at the start of the massacre weighing 115 pounds and emerged 50 pounds lighter, only to learn that her entire family had been murdered with the exception of her brother. Angelina Jolie Looking To Team With Mark Wahlberg And David O. Russell?
Just as Angelina Jolie prepares to pour "Salt" on a sequel, the Oscar-winning actress looks likely to appear in an Oscar-nominated director's new film.

Just Jared reports that Jolie is meeting with "The Fighter" director David O. Russell this week to discuss collaborating together on "The Silver Linings Playbook," his new comedy adaptation of Matthew Quick's novel about a recently released mental hospital patient looking to reclaim his life. Russell, late of "Uncharted," has already cast Mark Wahlberg in the lead role.

'True Blood's Rutina Wesley Lands Lead In Harrowing Rwanda Tale 'Left To Tell'
Exclusive: Just as a new season of True Blood returns to HBO, Rutina Wesley has been set to star in Left To Tell, a biopic about Immaculee Ilibagiza that's based on her betselling memoir. The project is set up at mPower. Ilibagiza's life was dramatically transformed during the 1994 Rwandan genocide campaign where she and seven other women spent 91 days, huddled silently together in a cramped bathroom of a local pastor's home. Entering the bathroom a vibrant, 115-pound university student with a loving family, she came out of that room weighing 65 pounds, and soon learned that most of her family had been brutally murdered. The film's being produced by Stephen McEveety and will be co-directed by Steve Berkowitz & Keith VanderLaan. Wesley most recently starred in How She Move, which was acquired during Sundance, and the indie California Winter. She's repped by Inspire Entertainment.
