HBO Max announced that the cast of “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” now includes Sharon Leal, Elena Goode and Lea Salonga as series regulars and Zakiya Young and Carly Pope in recurring roles.

Previously announced cast members of the “Pretty Little Liars” reboot include Chandler Kinney, Bailee Madison, Maia Reficco, Malia Pyles, Zaria, Mallory Bechtel, Alex Aiono and Eric Johnson. The series is set in the present, 20 years after a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, a disparate group of teen girls — the new “Little Liars” — find themselves tormented by an unknown “Assailant” and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago, as well as their own.

Bailee Madison has been cast in a lead role in HBO Max’s upcoming “Pretty Little Liars” reboot, the streamer announced Tuesday.

The “Good Witch” actress will star as Imogen, who is described as “a true survivor” by HBO Max. “Like all of the Liars, Imogen is a final girl. She will drive the mystery of uncovering ‘A’ as she fights for her life and the lives of her friends.”

She will star opposite Chandler Kinney and Maia Reficco, who were announced as the show’s first two leads earlier this month.

Exclusive: Sara Shepard, the author behind the popular Pretty Little Liars books, which have been turned into a slew of TV series, is moving into the audio space.

The author, who also wrote The Lying Game, which was adapted for TV, has created Cruise Ship, a scripted podcast for Meet Cute, a venture-backed media company that has produced over 300 original light-hearted romantic comedies in podcast form.

The series, which is a cross between The Love Boat and Love Actually, follows cruise ship Queen Beatrice on its inaugural voyage. The Serial Box and Storm King partnership is expected to produce a minimum of five audio series each year over at least a two-year span, with each story being released under a "John Carpenter Presents" banner.

John and Sandy, along with the Head of Content at Serial Box, Hayley Wagreich, will collaborate with other creators in the horror genre for these new audio series, which will be released on Serial Box's immersive platform.

Sara Shepard, the author of the Pretty Little Liars books, envisioned Rosewood residents to look and act differently from what they do in ABC's adaptation of the story. Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily look nothing like their book counterparts. The casting took huge liberties when it came to secondary characters too, often dramatically changing their storylines or adding characters that don't exist in the books, for example, Caleb.

Even though many of the characters didn't look right in the show, it didn't affect the over-all experience. If anything, the show introduced more diversity than the books, which is always a good thing.
