Netflix's shadiest horror franchise is targeting its next set of victims. The slasher series "Fear Street" debuted back in 2021 as three full-length movies set in the fictional but aptly-named town of Shadyside, based on author R.L. Stine's popular "Cheerleaders" sub-trilogy within the "Fear Street" novels. The mega-sized special event was released over the course of three consecutive weeks on the streaming service (check out /Film's spoiler review of the movies here), pulled in a ton of viewers, earned consistently high praise among critics, and served up all sorts of gory kills and supernatural chills -- along with one heck of a memorable kill by a particularly deadly bread slicer. Fans have been clamoring for more sequels ever since and rumors of new movies have swirled since at least 2022, but now we've heard straight from the studio that another release has officially been greenlit.

There are a lot of befores and afters in television history. Before and after colour transmission, for example, or before and after live broadcasts. And then there are the shows that catalyse great changes: before and after Seinfeld, before and after The Sopranos, before and after Breaking Bad. It’s the last of these that we are still feeling the ripples from: whether it’s Ozark or Happy Valley, TV drama is currently dominated by men thrown in at the deep end, struggling for their lives. And there is no show that takes this more seriously than the Bryan Cranston-led Your Honor.
As the second series opens, Adam Desiato’s death is still raw. His father, Michael (Bryan Cranston), has been impeached and seems to have taken the Unabomber as his grooming icon. He is approached by ambitious agent Olivia (Rosie Perez) who has the Baxter dynasty in her sights.

After Netflix's "Fear Street" trilogy came and went last year to all sorts of critical and audience acclaim, the streaming giant has made the objectively correct choice to let the scary times keep rolling. Not content to leave the impressively well-realized story (as explained in detail by /Film's Joshua Meyer in his spoiler review) at just three movies, it appears that the next film in this fun new franchise is about to get a big boost in talent behind the camera.
After Leigh Janiak wrote and directed all three of the previous movies, Above the Line (via Bloody Disgusting) reports the exciting news that Chloe Okuna will step into the director's chair to helm the next "Fear Street" film. Based on the well-received series of novels written by author R.L. Stine, "Fear Street" told the centuries-spanning story of how one group of teenage friends stumble upon an ancient and...

Netflix’s release of the newest Fear Street trilogy has got everyone talking. And for a good reason, too, the trilogy of films is based on R.L Stine’s Fear Street book series, which was published in the ’90s. Those who grew up in the ’90s probably remember how big of a deal the Fear Street books were. I spent many afternoons glued to my copy of The New Girl, eager to discover what would happen next. And who could forget the chill-inducing commercials for TV movies?
If you’re feeling nostalgic or just curious about what all the fuss was about, then you’re in luck. This blog post will provide a complete list of all the Fear Street movies. So whether you’re looking to relive some childhood memories or are simply curious about these cult classics and want to watch “Fear Street Series,” we have listed each film with the official trailer.

Showtime has pushed the premiere date for Season 2 of Your Honor to January 2023. The 10-episode second season starring Bryan Cranston will now bow on demand and on streaming Friday, January 13, 2023, and on-air on Sunday, January 15 at 9 pm. There’s a new showrunner set to preside over season two of Showtime’s Your Honor.
Joey Hartstone, who worked with exec producers Robert and Michelle King on season one of the series and is a veteran of The Good Fight, is taking over as showrunner. Peter Moffat (Criminal Justice) oversaw season one and departed for personal reasons. He next has season two of AMC’s 61st Street, which he co-created with J. David Shanks, set to premiere next year.
The legal drama starring Breaking Bad grad Bryan Cranston was originally picked up as a limited series and submitted in that category for Emmy consideration. After being shut out by the TV Academy, Showtime renewed the series for a second season featuring the same cast.
Season two will return to the premium cable network on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 9 p.m., with a streaming debut on Dec.

Like any cinematic series hoping to keep going, the final film in Leigh Janiak’s “Fear Street” trilogy sets up for plenty more thrills and chills to come. While “Fear Street Part 3: 1666” ends on a high, as Deena (Kiana Madeira), Sam (Olivia Scott Welch), Josh (Benjamin Flores Jr.), Martin (Darrell Britt-Gibson), and Constance (Gillian Jacobs) vanquish an ancient evil, clear Sarah Fier’s name (and witchy past), and seem to make some pretty big inroads toward saving their long ill-fated hometown of Shadyside, a post-credits scene threatens that peace.

Surprise! As the “Fear Street” trilogy wraps up its run with one final entry — “Fear Street Part 3: 1666,” which hit Netflix in the wee hours of Friday morning — filmmaker Leigh Janiak still has plenty of tricks and twists up her sleeve. While the trilogy has long promised to journey back to 1666, Janiak’s film isn’t content to simply go back in time, but to also return the action to where it all started, at least cinematically: in 1994.

This article contains Fear Street Part Three: 1666 spoilers.
It never could be as simple as reuniting an ancient skeleton’s hand with its wrist, right? That became obvious last week when the Fear Street trilogy’s ostensible heroine Deena Johnson (Kiana Madeira) attempted to break the curse of Sarah Fier by attaching all missing appendages in the alleged witch’s grave… only to be warped to Shadyside’s early days in 1666.
Now in Fear Street Part Three: 1666, we’ve learned the full unholy breadth of Shadyside’s curse, as well as their sister township Sunnyvale’s good fortune—and it’s dark. Involving a perversion of all that is good(e), the curse that has taken so many beloved characters over the centuries turned out to be more twisted than perhaps anyone expected… but not for Sarah Fier, a victim of superstition and misogynistic zealotry. And in the end, Sarah got the last blood-curdling laugh.

To anyone who’s seen the first two installments of Netflix’s three-part horror collection, it’s almost a formality to describe the initial plot of “Fear Street: 1666.” The ending of “1978” hinted at a possible window to the truth, a chance for Deena (Kiana Madeira) to see the origins of a town’s curse through the eyes of Sarah Fier herself. Memorialized in regional lore as a witch whose wickedness cursed Shadyside to centuries of doom in the form of a spate of serial killers, Sarah is introduced here as a loving sister and daughter who’s as capable helping her brother with the livestock as she is doing good works for her fellow residents of Union, including potential husband Solomon Goode.
Her heart truly belongs, though, to the pastor’s daughter, despite obvious reasons why they can never be together. If parts of this start to feel familiar,...

It’s been an exciting few weeks, but we have finally made it to the conclusion of Leigh Janiak’s Fear Street trilogy, as she takes us back to the year 1666 where everything began with Sarah Fier’s curse that has a hold over the residents of Shadyside and has seemingly left those living in nearby Sunnyvale thriving and unaffected by the witch’s influence from beyond the grave. As someone who has really enjoyed both the 1994 and 1978 Fear Street installments of this series, I’m completely in awe of how well everything comes together in Fear Street Part Three: 1666, where we not only take a terrifying trip to the past that sheds new light on just what exactly happened to Sarah Fier, but also satisfyingly wraps up the story of Deena (Kiana Madeira), Sam (Olivia Scott Welch) and Josh (Benjamin Flores Jr.) as well, as they set out to...

Netflix’s Fear Street trilogy is more than the sum of its parts. So regardless of niggles with individual installments, it’s hard to deny that this is an unusual and bold project for the streaming service and the director of all three, Leigh Janiak. Part three is the most ambitious of the lot, taking us back to colonial America and a time of superstition and religious fervor.
By reuniting Sarah Fier’s severed hand with the rest of her remains, Deena Johnson (Kiana Madeira) of the 1990s suddenly finds herself transformed into the body of Sarah circa 1666—reliving her memories of the final days before she was hanged as a witch. Janiak uses cast from the first two movies to play the residents of the encampment that will become Shadyside, giving a sense of legacy to this origin story; a sense that history is repeating itself.

Last week, horror fans everywhere got their first taste of the horrors of Sarah Fier in Leigh Janiak’s Fear Street: 1994, the first part of Netflix’s new R.L. Stine trilogy adaptation. And now, Janiak is taking us even further back in time as we head back to the “Me Decade” and spend some time at Shadyside’s Camp Nightwing during the summer of 1978. If you’ve seen the first Fear Street, you know that there was a total bloodbath at the camp, all due to the murderous rampage of a masked, axe-wielding psychopath, but the question here is: just how exactly did this murder spree unfold in the first place? And how is Sarah Fier tied to all of it?
Of course, I won’t spoil all those fun reveals, but just be forewarned—I will be discussing some of the events of Fear Street: 1994 because they tie directly into this story,...

This article contains Fear Street Part Two: 1978 spoilers.
When it comes to horror movies, things are never as easy as they first appear. The key influences of Fear Street Part Two: 1978 could’ve taught its characters this unfortunate truth. The final girl in 1980’s Friday the 13th, Alice (Adrienne King), thought she was home free after she beheaded Mrs. Voorhees (Betsy Palmer); then she got a good look at her beautiful boy Jason in the lake. And Sue Snell (Amy Irving) thought she was honoring the memory of the title character (Sissy Spacek) in Carrie (1976) until she realized she was being haunted from a literal grave.
