James Gunn Invites All DC Directors to Visit Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Set

James Gunn Invites All DC Directors to Visit Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Set
You can't spell deadly rivalry without Dceu and McU! Well, in reality, you can, but in the minds of a certain section of comic book movie fans, you can't. That section of the fandom views filmmaker James Gunn with deep suspicion, because he is working on the McU's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 at the same time as the Dceu's The Suicide Squad. One fan recently asked Gunn on Twitter whether Dceu directors or execs are allowed to visit the sets of Marvel movies, to which Gunn responded with an open invitation to all the Dceu creatives he admires.

"Sure. I'd love to have @JimLee, @ZackSnyder, @PattyJenks, James Wan, @DavidAyerMovies, @ponysmasher, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong, or any of the people I really dig from the DC side of my life visit the set of #GotGVol3. They're invited for sure!"

The whole debate began when James Gunn recently revealed that

The Suicide Squad Is a Straight-Up Comedy Says Star Joel Kinnaman
The upcoming comic book movie The Suicide Squad finds Altered Carbon star Joel Kinnaman returning to the role of US special forces specialist, Rick Flag. Last seen in 2016's Suicide Squad, Kinnaman has now discussed why he decided to come back, revealing that it is in large part due to the comedic sensibilities of director James Gunn.

"So that [role] I was very, very happy to come back to because it was such a treat, and such an incredible experience to work with James Gunn. And his vision for The Suicide Squad, it was so good. And when I got the script sent to me, it's so funny. Like every page made me laugh. I was sitting at home reading it laughing out loud."

Joel Kinnaman appeared as the character first back in 2016 as part of director David Ayer's Suicide Squad. While the movie was a huge financial success, it

The Suicide Squad Set Got a Visit from Marvel Boss Kevin Feige

The Suicide Squad Set Got a Visit from Marvel Boss Kevin Feige
For a certain section of comic book movie fans, the rivalry between the McU and Dceu is super-serious business, even though the actors and filmmakers working for both companies have mostly insisted there is no bad blood between the two entities. Recently, filmmaker James Gunn corroborated this sentiment when he revealed McU showrunner Kevin Feige had visited him on the sets of his upcoming Dceu film The Suicide Squad.

"I told Kevin Feige before I took [The Suicide Squad] and he was very cool and supportive as he always is. He just wanted me to make a good movie. He and Lou D'Esposito even came to visit the set and watched us shoot. There isn't the enmity behind the scenes like there is in the fan community."

Kevin Feige and James Gunn go way back, and Gunn had first become comic book movie royalty after making Guardians of the Galaxy in the McU under Feige.

The Suicide Squad Is Like an Old School War Epic That Has Everything Boasts Weasel Actor Sean Gunn
After months of fan theories and excited speculation, details surrounding James Gunn's upcoming comic book caper, The Suicide Squad, have finally started to bleed through. While he did not give anything away specifically about the plot, star and brother of the movie's director, Sean Gunn, has now offered some insight into the overall tone of The Suicide Squad.

"I wonder what I'm allowed to say (laughs). It's got a little bit of an old school quality because it's almost like an old war movie, but it's funny. It's really cool. In some ways it feels to me like it has some of the magic that Guardians had, but it's for a bit of a more grown-up audience. And it's my brother, and he can't not be funny. So it's got everything, there's a lot of action, a lot of comedy, a lot of heart. There's something sort of epic about it.

Idris Elba's Bloodsport Was Jailed for Shooting Superman Prior to The Suicide Squad

Idris Elba's Bloodsport Was Jailed for Shooting Superman Prior to The Suicide Squad
One part of David Ayer's original Suicide Squad that was frequently mocked was the idea that the titular team of supervillains was created by Amanda Waller as a means of killing Superman if he ever went rogue, even though there was no one on the team's roster who had any chance of taking on the Man of Steel in a fight. But James Gunn's upcoming reboot The Suicide Squad features one particular member named Bloodsport, played by Idris Elba, who has not only taken on Superman but might also have come close to killing him.

During a panel for the film at DC FanDome, a trivia game was held for the cast of Gunn's film. Storm Reid, who plays Bloodsport's daughter Tyla, asked, "Who shot Superman?", to which Gunn responded by suggesting the question should be rephrased to, "Which of your characters is in prison for shooting Superman?

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Stills Tease Rocksteady’s New Game

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Stills Tease Rocksteady’s New Game
Rocksteady showed the first trailer for their upcoming game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League at DC FanDome yesterday. Although the preview was purely cinematic and didn’t contain any gameplay footage, it still revealed a lot about the project, including the characters involved and the setting in which the story will take place.

As the title suggests, the Suicide Squad will be going after the Justice League, a team of superheroes that includes Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. The Man of Steel was the only member of the group to be featured prominently in the trailer, though, which isn’t surprising considering he’s been designated as Amanda Waller’s Alpha Target.

The involvement of the Justice League is the least puzzling aspect of the trailer, however. In the opening shot, Braniac’s ship appears to have landed right on top of Metropolis, turning it into a post-apocalyptic ruin.
