Maybe it's the pressure. Or the hot stage lights. Or the tantalising proximity of Simon's high-waisted trousers. But it wouldn't be a series of The X Factor without rumours of romances. Already this year we've had the usual nudges and winks wiggling their way out from Boot Camp.
But it's only in the pressure cooker of live shows that things really start heating up - and acts inevitably turn to each other for comfort. So prepare yourself with seven of our favourite ever X Factor romances...
1. Wagner and Mary Byrne (2010)
Is it any surprise that 54-year-old, Brazilian-born Wagner turned out to be something of a ladies' man? No woman can resist a guy with bongos, and his throwback picture of himself holding a lion's tail paved the way for men posing with big cats on dating apps.
In this case, the woman he allegedly wooed was Ballyfermot's Tesco Mary, with...

The X Factor's group 4th Power have been forced to change their name.
The sisters from the Philippines have been a hit with viewers since their appearances at the auditions and Boot Camp, but their name has now turned out to be an issue.
Laywers spotted that there is another group called 4th Power, so decided that the girls needed to change their name.
And they have - according to The Sun, the quartet will now be known as 4th Impact.
It's not the first time acts have had to change their name - Little Mix and Union J are among former acts who have switched titles during the competition.
The X Factor continues with another round of Boot Camp on Sunday (September 27) at 7pm on ITV.

The boyband, who finished fourth on the programme in 2012, told Digital Spy that it was something all acts had to go through on the ITV talent show.
Speaking exclusively to DS at the premiere of The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 1 on Monday (November 10), Josh Cuthbert said of Deadlock: "I think it's fair. There's nothing unfair about Deadlock.
"We've had to go through it – everyone goes through it every year. And I think that the public ultimately – yes, the judges have a say – but the public are the ones that spend money to vote on people they like."
Cuthbert was speaking the day after Louis Walsh took the decision to revert to the public vote on The X Factor, resulting in Paul Akister leaving the competition.
Meanwhile, of the new-look judging panel with Mel B and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini,...

The X Factor star Lauren Platt has admitted that she is frustrated by rumours romantically linking her to Only The Young member Charlie George.
Speaking to Digital Spy at the X Factor studios yesterday, Platt insisted she isn't annoyed by the reports but explained that their relationship is strictly platonic.
"It's frustrating, because I personally feel like a girl and a boy can just be friends without things going on," she said. "It's just like me being friends with Fleur except Charlie's a boy, really.
"A lot of my friends back home are boys so to me it doesn't really register in my head sometimes. To other people, obviously a lot of people aren't like that so I can understand why people would think there's something going on. I just think for two of the youngest people in the house, we're handling it a lot more maturely than a lot...

The X Factor hopeful Chloe Jasmine has been taken to hospital after injuring her foot.
The 24-year-old was forced to seek medical attention after her foot swelled in size following an incident on Monday (October 13).
However, while some reports have suggested that she stood on a piece of glass, an X Factor spokesperson told Digital Spy that she actually stubbed her foot on a piece of wood.
It is not yet clear whether Chloe Jasmine will be able to perform on her feet on Saturday (October 18), when The X Factor hosts '80s Week.
It has already been revealed that she will be singing Blondie's classic track 'Call Me', which was previously covered on The X Factor by Diana Vickers.

Union J singer Jaymi Hensley has heaped praise upon X Factor contestant Chloe Jasmine, claiming that he doesn't believe she is fake.
Jasmine has faced criticism over the last few weeks after a 2006 audition of her on the show revealed that she hasn't always had the accent that she possesses today.
Speaking to Digital Spy at last night's (October 13) Attitude Awards about who he is backing on this year's X Factor, Hensley said: "Chloe Jasmine - I love that bitch!
"I loved her on The Face too. She's not from this world. What I love about her is that Naomi Campbell told her to be less theatrical and she just couldn't, because she had no idea how to not be herself.
"When the press say she is fake, I genuinely don't believe it."
Hensley also revealed that he hopes Louis Walsh's boyband Stereo Kicks are able to support their youngest member Charlie Jones.

There was one question on our lips at the opening night of I Can't Sing last night - and it wasn't whether the show would make it past the interval (it did). Nope, we wanted to find out just who'd be filling that fourth judge seat on the X Factor panel, and the glittery celebs at the musical seemed like good people to ask. So who wants Chris Martin? Who's backing Fergie? And, er, who's waiting for Louis to die? Read on to find out...

"I think a rock superstar would be good - someone like Matt Bellamy from Muse or Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. Someone who's done gigging and slogging away on the circuit of pubs and clubs would be a really interesting addition to the panel. If I was booking it that's the kind of person I'd be looking for. We’re only 12 days into 2014, but Justin and Selena have already rode Segways together, gone camping, and taken romantic selfies together. It’s so great to see Jelena alive and well once again, and we refuse to let it end — here are eight reasons why.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have reunited for the 71st time (note: unofficial stat), and though it’s all very exciting, this needs to be the last time. Not because we don’t want them together — actually just the opposite. This should be the last reunion because Justin and Selena should never split again.
Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez: Why They Should Make The Reunion Last
Don’t agree with us? Here are eight reasons that should convince you otherwise:
1. They Have Undeniable Chemistry
Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber’s Vacation
Just look at these two racing around on Segways on Jan. 2 — it’s obvious that they belong together!

Arthur, who faced a downfall in his career after making homophobic comments about a rapper, apologised publicly recently.

Despite rumors that she is romantically involved with Union J singer, George Shelley, jealous boys around the nation can breathe easy: Selena Gomez is still single.
Asked if she’s “starting to become friends” with the Union J singer on the U.K.’s “Daybreak,” Gomez replied, “I wish! He has not hit me up… he’s kinda slacking.”
The rumors of the reported romance most likely stems from a video message the 21-year-old songstress left for Shelley, saying "Hey, George, it's Selena," she said in August. "I was in London for a bit and I'm actually bummed I missed you, so next time maybe give me a call."
However, 20-year-old George did tell "The Mirror" that he is more than a bit interested. "Selena's one of those massive celebrities who doesn't even know you exist, so I was gob-smacked," he said. "I thought it was a lookalike at first.
