Deborah Blount(I)
- Art Department
- Art Director
Deborah Blount is a self-taught artist from So Cal; growing up an only child could explain her strange twisted over-active imagination. Having a penchant for the dark, strange, bizarre and surreal; she transfers her mind visions onto paper and canvas using many mediums. Her works have been in gallery shows across the U.S. and included in several horror books and magazines.
Dolls are another way to express herself, a different sort of canvas, so to speak. Dolls who have been cast away, unwanted, unloved. These are her choices to "work her magic" on, giving them "new life". She wants to show that true beauty is deeper than the plastic cobalt eyeliner, pristine sparkling eyes and mouth; that beauty is dirty, ragged, torn, broken. Sometimes even nightmarish. Beauty is something far more than first appearance might suggest.
These dolls are her children; offspring of her dark soul, the toddlers from the unopened parts of her heart. Every doll is created with all her heart, soul and passion. Even sometimes a bit of blood, sweat and tears.
Dolls in films include:"Night of the Dolls","Circus of the Dead".
