It has been more than half a decade since Avengers: Infinity War was released, but the movie continues to set precedence when it comes to VFX and graphics. One of the most spectacular Marvel movies ever made. Not only did it contain numerous memorable scenes, but its graphics were considered by many fans as Oscar-worthy.
MCU’s Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
While fans have since complained about the diminishing quality of subsequent Marvel movies, Infinity War continues to be used as a cornerstone when it comes to VFX. One brilliant example of what went behind the creation of the epic is Peter Dinklage’s cameo. And a funny BTS detail about his shot with Chris Hemsworth only proves how much of an effort it took to create the movie.

Code 8: Part II, directed by Jeff Chan, delves into the current state of corruption in Lincoln City. It portrays a corrupt police sergeant named Kingston who masquerades as a do-gooder, serving the community’s interests while secretly collaborating with Psyke drug producer Garrett and his cohorts to make extra money on the side. The storyline highlights how individuals with mutant powers seeking employment in the manufacturing sector face discrimination from the Lincoln City Police Department’s (Lcpd) new robotic officers known as Guardians. These Guardians are deployed to combat powered criminals, but their automated lethality escalates beyond control. In response, the police consider reducing the number of Guardians and integrating non-lethal robotic dogs to maintain order. Kingston happens to be the producer of these robotic dogs. The exploration of Kingston’s character’s evil deeds and abuse of power serves as a central theme in the movie, shedding light...

Greenleaf alum Keith David has been tapped to take over the role of Commander Zavala in Destiny 2‘s upcoming expansion release The Final Shape. He replaces the late Lance Reddick, who passed away earlier this year.
Game developer Bungie made the announcement Monday morning.
“Commander Zavala has been central to the story we have been telling since the original Destiny, and we have plans to continue his journey,” the Destiny 2 team wrote in a post on Bungie’s website titled “Thank you, Commander: The Future of Zavala’s Journey”.
“Earlier this year, we lost Lance Reddick, the English language voice actor of Commander Zavala,” the post read. “The passion and professionalism Lance brought to the role over the last decade was unmistakable and loved by all. This post contains spoilers for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."
During the prolonged climax of James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," the titular superhero team has to break into a high-security spaceship being flown by the villainous High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji). In order to make their way inside, however, they have to fight down a hallway populated by the High Evolutionary's goons, each of them instructed to kill the heroes. In an exhilarating one-take sequence, the Guardians lay waste to the security guards, killing every one of them with aggression and panache.
/Film has written about the dark ambivalence of that scene, pointing out that the Guardians had just learned an important lesson about protecting all life and respecting the strange animal monsters in the High Evolutionary's thrall. In other words, the Guardians has only just learned to be gentler and kinder, and yet they were...

Karen Gillan's Nebula may have started as a full-on villain, but since her first appearance in "Guardians of the Galaxy" back in 2014, she's gone on to have one of the most satisfying character arcs in the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe. She's now an integral part of the Guardians family in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," James Gunn's final installment in his trilogy before he leaves Marvel behind to tackle the new slate of DC movies as head of DC Studios.
Gunn departs having crafted three of the best MCU movies, even though the threequel was a bit of a rushed, uneven, yet sporadically emotional finale. At the very least, "Vol. 3" brought us our first ever f-bomb in MCU history. And it's none other than Nebula herself who's on the receiving end of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt)'s cursing in the scene that has everybody talking about this...

The two primary features of James Gunn's multiple "Guardians of the Galaxy" projects are their quirkiness and their unabashed sentimentality. To assure the former, Gunn made his title team a group of weirdo outsiders who are all possessed of a playfully semi-ignorant, devil-may-care attitude that communicated a flip irreverence toward the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a series usually bogged down by overtly earnest mythmaking. On the other side of things, the outsider characters were, over the course of their multiple appearances, careful to tell each other about their respective trauma and issues with abusive fathers. The Guardians, then, didn't merely come together as a team, but emerged as a found family, holding each other for mutual warmth.
The Guardians movies, sadly, don't always strike a great balance between their flippant tone and their emotional leanings. The Guardians, as part of their job, kill enemy soldiers by the score and then...

The latest in the series, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is ultimately more of the best elements of the formula that proved so successful in the previous entries in the series, even though it may be the third best film of the series.
In this installment in the saga of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and his friends must again rally together to save one of their own in an adventure that portends not only certain doom for the Guardians, but for the universe as well.
The production is once again helmed by writer/director James Gunn; and he delivers more of the entertaining Marvel filmmaking that the previous entries in the series have provided. Although there are a few fresh nuances here and there, this is largely more of the same that was present in the previous films, and that works well as a...

Warning: this post contains spoilers for "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3."
Director James Gunn announced long ago that his new film "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will be his last in this particular series. Gunn has famously moved over to Warner Bros. to construct a brand new interconnected series of movies based on DC Comics, leaving him no time to play around with the Marvel Comics characters he helped popularize on film. As such, "Vol. 3" feels very much like a "final chapter," as several characters will end up parting ways. Contrary to what popular wisdom might dictate, Gunn does not take the opportunity to kill off his entire cast by the end, leaving them all alive to pursue their passions. Many of the Guardians, however, will retire. The fact that any one of their stories has a proper ending is a rarity for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. More often,...

James Gunn's first two "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies are real standouts in the ubiquitous Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most MCU movies tend to blend together into one big, gray blob; it's an occasionally entertaining blob, but a blob all the same. More often than not, the MCU feels less like it's helmed by executives and committees rather than actual filmmakers. But Gunn's "Guardians" movies seem like the work of a singular director; someone who puts actual heart and soul into these digital-heavy, explosion-ridden extravaganzas. In Gunn's hands, the mostly unknown Guardians of the Galaxy became wonderful, vibrant characters; characters we actually cared about. Loading his films up with genuine stabs at emotion and killer pop soundtracks resulted in two pretty damn good movies; movies that are far superior to the majority of the MCU mishmash.
And now here comes Gunn's final trip of the MCU merry-go-round, at least for now.

On May 5, 2023, the final installment in James Gunn's hugely popular "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy will land in theaters. Gunn has made no secret of the fact that "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will close the book on this chapter of the MCU, and it could be the last time we see some of the Guardians themselves, including Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), Drax (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Nebula (Karen Gillan). In 2022, before he premiered the movie's teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, Gunn told the crowd: "This is the end of that story. I'm sorry. Some stories have an end. It doesn't mean everybody dies."
Of course, that doesn't mean nobody dies. Indeed, Gunn has been equally candid in pointing out that "Vol. 3" will be an emotional rollercoaster for audiences. A few months after Sdcc, a Twitter...

After the Dark Knight, Skywalker, the Planet of the Apes, the Lycans, Hannibal, Taj, the Dark, the Guardians, the Silver Surfer, Cobra, the Machines, an Empire, Leslie Vernon, and Darkrai, it is time for "Evil Dead" to rise.
Lee Cronin's "Evil Dead Rise," which roars back to bloody life on April 21, 2023, is the fifth film in the series begun by Sam Raimi in 1981 with "The Evil Dead," a picture that described itself as the Ultimate Experience in Grueling Horror. The first two "Evil Dead" movies pushed the envelope in their sheer volume of on-screen blood, as characters would often be doused copiously with bodily humors. The third film, "Army of Darkness," featured a geyser of human blood, and the 2013 "Evil Dead" remake climaxed with a scene of someone getting chainsawed through the face while blood literally rains from the sky. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will be pulling at our heartstrings when it hits theaters this summer, kicking off what promises to be an exciting year for blockbusters filled with a bunch of highly anticipated movies. Of course, it wouldn't be a Marvel movie without a plethora of merchandise accompany it. Considering this is meant to be the last ride for this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, you can bet that Disney will be going all out, especially with a flashback to the adorable baby version of the feisty Rocket Raccoon making an appearance.
Hasbro's Marvel Legends line of action figures always honors the latest Marvel Studios movie with a line of new toys (via GameRant), and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is no different. However, this is the first time that the line of figures has actually had such a uniform appearance, and we mean that literally.

This article contains spoilers for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Not only does The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special give us an entertaining forty-four minutes of Guardians holiday hijinx, it also gives valuable insight into what the squad has been up to after Thor (Chris Hemsworth) left them at the beginning of Thor: Love and Thunder. Groot (Vin Diesel) is now a young adult, Kraglin (Sean Gunn) still doesn’t know how to use the arrow Yondu (Michael Rooker) left him, and Mantis (Pom Klemintiff) is Peter’s (Chris Pratt) sister. For everything that the special revealed, however, it also still left us with plenty of questions. Thankfully, James Gunn recently took to Twitter to answer a couple of them.

Plot: On a mission to make Christmas unforgettable for Quill, the Guardians head to Earth in search of the perfect present.
Review: After the success of Marvel Studios’ Werewolf by Night, their second standalone special presentation arrives in a Christmas-themed special featuring the established characters from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy series. Serving as a bridge between their last appearances in Avengers: Endgame and Thor: Love & Thunder and next year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, this Holiday Special represents a Yuletide-themed outing for a space-set big screen saga and will easily draw comparisons with the much-maligned holiday special featuring the characters in the Star Wars franchise. Luckily, James Gunn shows Lucasfilm how it’s done and still manages to incorporate celebrity cameos, musical numbers, and holiday cheer while still maintaining the integrity of his movies for a special that will make audiences smile and laugh in equal measure.

Christmas — and Kevin Bacon — is coming for Marvel fans.
Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, Mantis and Nebula are bringing the holiday cheer to Disney+, with Marvel Studios revealing a first look at “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,” set for release on Nov. 25.
In the trailer, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord isn’t feeling the Christmas spirit since he’s lost his love Gamora (Zoe Saldaña) in the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” To cheer him up, the Guardians travel to Earth to snag him the perfect Christmas present — Hollywood star Kevin Bacon. Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) go to his Hollywood home, which is decked out with Christmas decorations and a smart-home security system. They break into Bacon’s house, and the actor — who’s no stranger to superhero movies after appearing in “X-Men: First Class” — takes off.
