M. R. Miller built robots for an opera for the Prince of Monaco (Death and the Powers). He also studied music composition and computer science at MIT and the MIT Media Lab (SB '09, MEng. '10). While at MIT, he was awarded the Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts and scored several silent films for the National Film Preservation Foundation. He learned under composers John Harbison, Tod Machover and Howard Shore. He produced albums as an award-winning arranger and director for the MIT Logarhythms a cappella group and other ensembles.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2015, M. R. has applied his musical expertise to many projects. He writes additional music and orchestrations for composers Brian Tyler (The Mummy, Power Rangers, Fate of the Furious) and composer Austin Wintory (Abzu, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, Banner Saga).
