‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ Will Do ‘Beauty and the Beast’ for Season 2
HSM:tm:ts… Batb?

Disney+’s “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” is shifting gears heading into Season 2, confusingly taking on an entirely different musical than the one in its many-coloned title.

“The outpouring of love and support for season one has been incredibly exciting, and I’m thrilled that the Wildcats are putting on ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in season two,” series creator Tim Federle said in a statement. “It was one of the first Broadway shows I ever saw, when I was 14, and it’s got all the perfect metaphors for the high school experience: Do people judge me for how I look? What is true love? Will I achieve the future I dream of? And, perhaps most importantly, it’s got dancing forks.”

So, to break it down, Season 2 of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” will continue to be both a series based on a musical

A post shared by Sofia Wylie (@sofiawylie) on Feb 2, 2020 at 2:24pm Pst

I'd like to introduce you to my new favorite (fake) TV show: Keeping Up With High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Yeah, it's a mouthful, but I promise, it's worth it. On Super Bowl Sunday, the ladies of the HSM Series cast got together for a girls' night and spent commercial breaks filming a spot-on Instagram tribute to Kourtney Kardashian's most iconic moments. Costars Olivia Rodrigo, Julia Lester, Dara Reneé, and Sofia Wylie totally nailed Kourtney's memorable quotes, from "Kim, there's people that are dying" to "I'm gracing you with my presence."

Their video feels very similar to one the Jonas Brothers posted on TikTok last month, which got the Kardashian sisters' full approval. I have a feeling Kourtney would be a fan of the HSM cast's homage too, since she's,

Breaking Free! What Lies Ahead For HSM Series in Season 2 and Beyond

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is closing the curtain on season one, and it's a wild ride. The finale, which aired on Jan. 10, is jam-packed with nostalgia as the students at East High put on their very own production of High School Musical, but it also includes plenty of drama (on and off the stage). Ricky and Nini profess their love for each other, Gina might be returning to East High after all, and Big Red and Ashlyn finally solidify their romance.

With all the twists and cliffhangers, we already have tons of questions about what's to come. Thankfully, the Disney+ series has already been renewed for season two, so we won't have to wait too long for answers. In the meantime, we went straight to the source to chat with showrunner Tim Federle on everything from the Nini/Ricky/Gina love triangle to how the second season
