Fortnite is a very successful live-service battle royale game. In fact, it is unmistakably one of the most played battle royale games of recent times. This game took its developer and publisher, Epic Games, to new heights of popularity. After seven years of its launch, it remains the same popular game that it was years ago, all thanks to the constant updates and numerous crossovers.
Over time, a bunch of companies have brought their respective properties to this game. They brought their characters, they allowed items themed around their IPs to feature in this game, and they have even allowed massive events based on those IPs in this game. From characters from Star Wars to superheroes from the DC universe, everyone has made an appearance in this game. All but Samus Aran.

Epic Games’ Fortnite has grown in both scope and appeal over the years. Much of this has to do with the regular updates the game gets, in the form of content, and live events. Additionally, the game has done several celebrity collaborations, which have always managed to keep things fresh and exciting for the fans.
Epic Games’ Fortnite
Out of all of these, one thing that many Fortnite players look out for is the live events. These live events are based on the game’s storyline and offer rewards to the players. These live events are huge, as they engage the game’s global fans together for a shared experience.

BAFTA has confirmed the date for next year’s film awards ceremony, which will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025.
The date means the BAFTAs will come exactly two weeks before the 2025 Oscars, set for March 2.
Once again, the British awards will take place smack in the middle of the Berlin Film Festival, which runs Feb. 13-23, meaning many Brit executives will be booking flights back from the German capital on the first festival weekend.
BAFTA has not confirmed where the 2025 awards will take place. This year’s event was held three weeks before the Oscars at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
By holding on to their pre-Oscar slot, the BAFTAs hope to maintain their position in awards season as the most important international ceremony and as a prime Academy Award predictor. It’s safe to say Rita Moreno had an unforgettable experience meeting Lenny Kravitz for the first time.
The Egot winner shared on Thursday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show that she was “astonished” at the legendary singer’s initial reaction to her during the Vanity Fair Oscar Party last month.
“I said to my daughter [Fernanda Luisa Gordon], ‘Oh look, there’s Lenny Kravitz. Let’s go say hello,'” Moreno recalled. “And she said, ‘Do you know him?’ I said, ‘No, but, you know, it’s a party,’ and he was all alone.”
After the West Side Story actress introduced herself to Kravitz, she said, “At that point — you’re not gonna believe this — he fell to the floor, and he got on his knees. And he just went on and on and on and on about how much he’s admired me all these years,” quipping,...

J Balvin made his return to Coachella on Sunday night, and he brought along Will Smith for a performance of “Men in Black” towards the end of his sub-headlining set.
Complete with backup dancers donned as ETs, a massive alien head popping up in the center, and a reprise of the 1997 film’s costumes, J Balvin pulled out all the stops for his Men in Black production. Will Smith emerged to perform the blockbuster’s titular theme song — halfway through, the track’s beat switched to a reggaeton groove, and Smith and J Balvin recreated the dance from the song’s music video.
The performance concluded with J Balvin being “captured” by suited backup dancers and Smith flashing the audience with a memory-eraser ray. Watch footage of Smith’s appearance below.

The music festival Coachella hit this weekend with a wide array of genre artists. Notably, for the older millennial music fans, 90s bands such as Blur and No Doubt would take the stage. The festival would also feature a bevy of guest appearances that include such acts as Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Shakira, Paris Hilton and Kesha. Kesha would set social media and news outlets ablaze as she changed the lyrics to her hit song “Tik Tok” to say “fuck P. Diddy” during her performance with Reneé Rapp.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that during J Balvin’s set, Will Smith arrived on stage in his black suit and shades, which was “the last suit you’d ever wear” in Smith’s 1997 blockbuster film, Men in Black. Coachella 2024 was the year of the A-list guests. Across all three days, top stars made appearances either onstage or in the crowd to support their musician besties. Olivia Rodrigo joined No Doubt, Will Smith pulled up for J Balvin, Justin Bieber sang with Tems, Billie Eilish threw a last-minute party at the DoLab stage, and Shakira even announced a world tour during Bizarrap’s set.
The talk among some festivalgoers ahead of Coachella suggested that this year’s lineup might underwhelm, but the number of stars joining their friends onstage surely helped with that.

Will Smith was a surprise guest at Coachella on Sunday night.
The rapper-actor hit the stage alongside J Balvin to perform his hit song “Men in Black,” from his 1997 box office blockbuster film of the same name.
Smith appeared in Ray-Ban Balorama sunglasses and a black Dolce & Gabbana suit, the standard uniform of his character in the film, which starred Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as investigators in a secret organization who monitor and police extraterrestrials.
Smith and Balvin rapped the song together, while backup dancers dressed as aliens and a giant alien head prop added to the effect. At the end of the performance, Balvin was dragged off by two people in black suits.
Then, Smith was seen holding up the device used in the movie to erase the memories of people who witness alien activities, in addition to wiping out the memories of agents ready to retire.

After a shortened 2022-23 season, Saturday Night Live returned a bit later than usual to kick off its 2023-24 run.
The writers strike affected both the end of last season and the start of season 49; the end of the labor action on Sept. 25 meant a mid-October start for SNL — with former castmember Pete Davidson hosting — rather than the late September or early October premiere the show usually has. Coachella 2024 kicked off Friday, and festival season is officially upon us once again.
With over 100,000 festival goers in the desert for this weekend’s debut, Day One was a stacked opening, with Lana Del Rey bringing out Billie Eilish for a duet, Shakira shocking the crowd and announcing a world tour during Bizarrap’s set, and Peso Pluma putting corridos on the world stage.
If Euphoria core influenced Coachella’s fashion in years past, 2024 has now gone cosmic cowboy as the silver boots and cowboy hats took over the festival grounds.

Lana Del Rey brought her ethereal Venus energy to the Coachella main stage as she closed out Friday night at the festival. This marked her first Coachella performance since 2014.
Seated on the back of a motorcycle, Del Rey rode serenely towards the stage with a full motorcade trailing behind her. Lines from her 2012 song “Jealous Girl” played from the speakers — “Baby, I’m a gangster too/And it takes two to tango” — before she took the stage in a sparkling baby blue dress.

The 2024 Grammys were not that long ago, but we’re already well into the 2025 Grammy season. With the eligibility deadline being August 30, 2024, we only have five months left to gear up our predictions and then switch focus to all the campaigning that goes along with Grammy voting. So, with a lot of the major contenders being out already, let’s see how the race looks.

In terms of hit songs, a few stand out from the rest. While songs like Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me,” Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills,” Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Carnival,” Tate McRae’s “Greedy”, and Teddy Swims’s “Lose Control” (he’d also need to submit a live version) will likely be big contenders for nominations, there are four songs that, to me at least, currently sound like possible winners.

Blur fans, rejoice! There’s a concert film and a documentary heading to a cinema near you later this year. More details here.
Here’s a double whammy for your Thursday afternoon. Iconic band Blur are getting not only a documentary on their incredible career, but also a concert film.
Updated From Original Story: release date added at the bottom!
The documentary will follow the band during the year they made their surprise return with the album The Ballad of Darren. The film will portray the friends, bandmembers, some might even say soulmates, as they record ten new songs, culminating in their sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium.
The concert film will then showcase one of those shows at Wembley. Titled blur: Live At Wembley Stadium, it will give you a chance to experience (or relive) the concert from summer 2023.

The 40th edition of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, one of the key stops on the road to the Oscars, will take place Feb. 4-15, 2025 — two days longer than past editions of the fest on the American Riviera, to allow for extra programming in celebration of the milestone — the fest announced on Thursday.

Taylor Swift’s catalog is once again available on TikTok, even as her record label, Universal Music Group, is still in the middle of a heated dispute with the influential short-form video platform.
Back in February, Swift’s tracks were among the thousands pulled off TikTok after Umg announced that it hadn’t reached a new licensing agreement with the app, claiming in an open letter that TikTok wasn’t compensating artists enough for their work, also citing concerns over safety and AI music on the platform.

Just last year, many experts believed an AI model capable of generating complete, high-fidelity songs from text prompts wouldn’t arrive anytime soon, but now, an arms race is on between competing music-making models that do just that. Suno‘s v3 model, released to the public just weeks ago, was a remarkable breakthrough, particularly in realistic, human-sounding vocals — and today, a formidable new competitor arrives via the just-launched startup Udio. The two companies’ output seems closely comparable, though some early users have suggested that on average, Udio’s output may sound crisper than Suno’s,...

When Sam Taylor-Johnson started working on her Amy Winehouse biopic, Back to Black, she asked screenwriter Matt Greenhalgh to listen to one of Winehouse’s tracks, “Tears Dry on Their Own,” before he started writing. “I kept saying in those early days, ‘I feel like this song is our path to understanding her,’ ” Taylor-Johnson says.
In the deceptively upbeat single about Winehouse’s tumultuous relationship with her on-again, off-again love, Blake Fielder-Civil, she sings, “It’s my responsibility/And you don’t owe nothing to me.”
For Taylor-Johnson, 57, that line spoke to something largely misunderstood about Winehouse, the English singer who died of alcohol poisoning in 2011: Just 27, she left behind an outsize cultural impact. Winehouse’s defining album, Back to Black, sold more than 16 million copies worldwide, and her unique mix of jazz and soul with punk-era defiance would go on to influence artists like Adele, Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish.

She has announced that “Hit Me Hard and Soft” will be released on May 17. Watch the mysterious announcement video above.
Her first album made history. 2019’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” was the number-one album of the year on the Billboard 200. That made Eilish the youngest Album of the Year winner in history at just 18 years old. American Idol kicked off its Top 24 week on Sunday night (April 7), but some viewers think Katy Perry is playing favorites. The episode took place at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, where the remaining Season 22 hopefuls performed on the beachfront stage, hoping to impress the judges and move on to the live shows. However, some fans criticized Perry for seemingly showing bias towards Abi Carter, the 21-year-old recent college graduate from Indio, California. The judges previously awarded Carter a Platinum Ticket after her soulful rendition of Billie Eilish‘s “What Was I Made For?”; the ticket allowed her to skip the first round of Hollywood Week. On Sunday’s episode, Carter wowed the judges again with an energetic performance of Hillsong United’s “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail),” receiving an immense reaction from the crowd. “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say it, but you’re my favorite,...
