Television moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. (Most likely because it’s been canceled before you even knew it.) This can especially be the case with new television, which is why it’s important to know what freshman series have been canceled — a word that’s actually being used less and less by television networks, even when that’s still what’s happening — renewed, or, at the very least, picked up for additional episodes.
IndieWire has created a gallery for those freshman shows, with updates on their current status and potential future. This list will be updated as the season continues to unfold, so to keep track of the triumphs and… less-than-triumphs of the 2019-2020 television season.
