‘The Expanse’ Renewed for 6th and Final Season at Amazon
The Expanse” has been renewed for a sixth and final season by Amazon Studios ahead of the sci-fi show’s fifth season premiere Dec. 16 on Prime Video, the streaming service revealed Tuesday.

Season 6 of the show, which aired its first three seasons on Syfy before being rescued by Amazon after cancellation, will star returning cast members Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, Frankie Adams, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cara Gee and Wes Chatham, and be led by showrunner Naren Shankar. “The Expanse” actor Cas Anvar, who was the subject of sexual misconduct investigations over the summer, will not be included in the final season, but he is in the upcoming fifth.

Based on the books by James S.A. Corey (the pen name used by writers Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck), “The Expanse” is set in a future “where humanity has colonized the solar system and the people of Earth, Mars and the Asteroid
