‘SNL’s Weekend Update Tackles New Masking Guidelines, Liz Cheney’s Ouster From Republican Leadership & Tom Cruise’s Decision To Return His Golden Globes
Tonight on the Weekend Update segment of Saturday Night Live, anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che tackled new guidelines from the CDC, Rep. Liz Cheney’s ouster from Republican leadership, Tom Cruise’s recent decision to return his Golden Globes and more.

“Guys, great news this week,” Jost exclaimed, as he kicked things off. “The CDC announced that fully vaccinated [individuals] no longer have to wear masks or socially distance—except if you go to most places.”

After the announcement, he continued, President Biden told Americans to take off their mask and smile, “even though ‘take it off and smile’ is the first example in every workplace harassment seminar.”
