Box-Office Weekend: Tom Cruise on Top Again
After ceding the top spot of the box-office weekend to Jurassic World Dominion for the last two weeks, Tom Cruise and Top Gun: Maverick bested Elvis by the slimmest of margins to claim the top of the box-office weekend.

In its fifth weekend of release, Top Gun: Maverick reclaimed the top of the box-office weekend with 30,500,176 over the weekend. This was just enough to relegate newcomer Elvis to second place with 30,500,000. Meanwhile, last week’s first-place film, Jurassic World Dominion finished in third place with 26.4 million to bring its three-week total to 302.8 million. The second debut of the weekend, the horror film The Black Phone landed just behind that in fourth place with 23.4 million to show for its opening weekend. This dropped Lightyear to fifth place with 17.7 million after a second-place finish last weekend. The Disney/Pixar film now has a two-week total of 88.8 million.
