Frequently Asked Questions

Does the plugin update as the ratings change?

Yes, the plugin automatically updates as more people rate a particular movie or TV series. Our ratings update daily, so your plugin will always be current.

Who can use the rating plugin?

The rating plugin is for limited, non-commercial use only. Limited, non-commercial use cases include displaying a small number of IMDb star ratings on personal websites/blogs. If your use case for IMDb’s star ratings is broader or commercial in nature (or if you are not sure) you must obtain an IMDb Commercial Content License. Commercial use cases include but are not limited to where/what/how to watch applications (websites, plugins and apps), streaming services, buying/selling marketplaces and any other product or project catalogs (both public/external and internal). To obtain a license or to request express permission for broader use, see IMDb's Developer site.

Are there any restrictions on my use of this plugin?

Yes. To ensure that the most accurate data and images are always used, all elements of the plugin must be used as is with no modifications or alterations. No portion of the plugin, including the IMDb logo image, may be hosted locally by the user of the plugin.

After installing the plugin, why do some movie/TV series have no rating?

The plugin will display the IMDb rating for all titles that have a rating. If a movie/TV series has yet to be released, or if the title hasn't received enough user ratings, the plugin will only display the IMDb logo without any rating. Once the title has enough user ratings, the rating will automatically appear. If this occurs please verify the title you are trying to add, actually has a rating.
