I like this show, it's refreshing, I like that they've "already done the deed" and it isn't the tired old game of waiting to see when they go to bed that kills some shows when it happens.
I like seeing some of my favorites actors again. Gina Torres played a goddess in Angel, a gun toting space scavenger in Firefly, and here she portrays the head of the department. She portrays a character that leads with a firm hand, yet has a sense of humour, (ie the no wedding comment) and I love her voice. I like that she portrays women who aren't screaming meamies. She can take care of herself in any situation, yet is still smart enough to know when to ask for help.
The combination of humour and professionalism makes for great TV watching.
