Warning: Spoilers
Main Plot:-

Rumi Bagga and Vicky Sandhu (DJ Sandz) are deeply in love and deeply in Fyar with each other. Everything goes well, until one day when Rumi's family questions her seriousness about getting married. Situation and circumstances turns in a way that Rumi now has to take some decision and she pushes herself to get married or at least have her engagement done. But Vicky isn't ready to take the responsibility of marriage. Until when Robbie Bhatia enters in her life and every things goes super crazy.

My Views:-

Before starting with anything the thing which stayed with me after watching the movie is the scene just before interval where Rumi is waiting for Vicky with her bags under a street light and Vicky is watching her from a distance and decides to leave her and go for her own good and then with a crying face he reverses his jeep- God!, the background score at the moment really sends a chill down your spine. The ending scene between Robbie and Rumi is really well written with dialogues. They walk down the lane, and every word happening between them keeps you on the edge and with a hope that things will get sort out between them. There are many ups and down until the very end where everything concludes on the positive note. Talking about the story and screenplay, written by Kanika Dhillon, thought it could have delivered better than promised. Whatever that lacked in the screenplay was well covered by the Directional skills of The Anurag Kashyap and Original Background Score of Amit Trivedi. Starting 20-25 min is used to establish the story and to tell you what exactly is going to happen throughout the film. The movie starts with a song where relationship between Rumi, Vicky and their Fyar is shown. The first half of the film is well paced and interesting and keeps you rooting for Rumi, despite of the fact that you won't be able to understand Rumi completely. But the movies starts to lose its grip in the second half, where you might find it that it gets a bit lengthy, but again the situation and conflicts of story brings you back on the storyline. You might also notice that the movie has less of background score but more of background songs. As Manmarziyaan movie album has 14 songs. And most of the songs are used in place of background score. And to be honest, it probably worked, except in few countable scenes. Casting- Rumi's character played by Tapsee Pannu delivers the same what was required of that particular character. Vicky Kaushal plays a role of Vicky Sandhu aka DJ Sandz is as usual a delight to watch and with his recent performances he is rocking the industry. His hairs, his attitude, his body language, his everything in the film just have been flawless. And the big name Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of Robbie and proves his strong comeback with this role. Abhishek plays a "Raamji" type role and, for me, no one could have been better a cast than him. One more thing which I noticed about this film is the close-ups of Abhishek Bachchan's character Robbie. As Robbie is a guy of less words and his eyes and face talks a lot than his mouth. He absorbs every single thing and every single word but only speaks out when required and necessary. Did you notice the twin girls dancing? It is a screen device which Anurag Kashyap uses in many of his films. The twin girls dancing are used to show the dilemma of Rumi- Whether to listen to heart or to listen to mind. To go with love or to go with what's practical.
