We Were In The Bogs, certain sure!

The drama showed Irish country folk living close to nature, this proximity, the drama suggests, leads to a more visceral approach to life. Wherever you looked there were pent up frustrations expressed through gritted teeth, blackmail, adultery, attempted rape and pre-meditated murder.

More interestingly than all this the plot seemed to suggest the rare shared psychosis known as "folie a deux" where two normally sane people, when together can commit unspeakable crimes like the Moors murderers. However the twist comes and matters escalate to a climactic resolution and it becomes clear that a religious and landowner perspective emerges in support of insurrection.

This is the BBC at its very best, everything was in its place, tight script, brilliant acting, a total attention to detail fixing the plot in its time. etc etc. It was so authentic I needed the subtitles 5 minutes in lol
