Don't know if it is true
8 January 2019
I watched this documentary after seeing the 7.4 rating, and was surprised to see how boring it is. First of all, the documentary is entirely from the American point of view which says that Americans won the competition with French designers. It was an American Revolution primarily due to usage of African American models and a couple of AA designers. Unheard of American designers went up against the top French haute couture houses. At no point is the French clothing shown, not even in pics, and some, just a handful of American designs are shown which pale in comparison. Anne Klein was one designer who went, I mean, Anne Klein went against the top couture houses. In which world? The people in the film keep saying Americans won, but not a single French person is shown so who knows what really happened? This is about a time period from before I was born, given the elaborate designs of couture houses from 10+ years ago, I highly doubt that the unknown sportswear designers who went against them "won". It is a pointless boring documentary that doesn't even seem correct.
