Review of Religion

What worked: The movie is an extraordinary tale of a devoted Hindu priest portrayed brilliantly by Pankaj Kapoor. I think this is one of his best characters in the recent times. Another good thing about the movie is the cinematography, it's done very well. The movie has a very powerful narrative, fine screenplay and storytelling. It's a movie with a message that gets conveyed by the end of the movie , making it a wonderful watch. What did not work: I am against songs in the movie both the love song and the song that starts the movie by Sonu Nigam. Somewhere down the line, the movie diverted to the typical Bollywood masala and melodrama, which effected the movie in a dramatic way. If only, it was conveyed with less glorified way it would have been better Final verdict: highly recommended
