Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan is finally back after three years and one episode in, I can officially say I'm hooked. Though the first half was a slow burn, catching up with the characters and exposition regarding the season's story, the second half was the opposite. With you on the edge of your seat with suspension and tension in each scene. The production design and overall quality, from direction to editing to the sound design, it feels like the same quality as the first season. Time will tell if the quality will be the same. But I do have one criticism and it destroys the immersion and reality the show is good at, it's how the Russians are speaking English when they're alone with other Russians.

"Falcon" was directed by Jann Turner and written by Vaun Wilmott. To me both the direction and writing were quite great, I loved the cinematography, as each shot looks so good and was shot brilliantly. The premise of the season premiere: Jack Ryan is called into service to right a wrong against his country. Using the latest technology and help of a loyal friend he jumps into action to prevent chaos, that could destroy democracy and our republic.

The times when the show have been average and not as good, it have always had John Krasinski as Jack Ryan who is terrific in this. His presence is felt whenever he's on the screen and I think his performance were brilliant in this episode, I anticipate he'll do an award worthy performance in this season. Wendell Pierce returns and nails the performance as James Greer, but it isn't anything mind blowing, he's just good in the role. There's some others who returns, but those who are new is: Betty Gabriel as Elizabeth Wright, James Cosmo as Luka, Peter Guinness as Petr Kovac and Nina Hoss as Alena Kovac.

This was actually a really great premiere and I can't wait to see what else the writers and show have in store for us, but for now, I think season 3 is off to a great start.
