Enjoyable if you can overlook modern angst
19 October 2023
There are some glaring lifestyle choices and modern angst that are inconsistent with life in the 1950s. Six Thirty, I'm looking at you, too, Mr. Labordoodle modern designer dog amongst other things. Those issues aside, the leading characters are likeable and the bad guys are obvious. I did not read the book, and I've only seen the first two episodes. I found it all enjoyable until the end of the second episode. It was a surprise to me that sent me into a bit of a panic attack. I don't know why, but it did. Maybe it was just shocking to me as I wasn't expecting it because I had not read anything prior to watching it. Regardless, my surprise and reaction tell me that I was entrapped by the story and acting.
