Like most people I had never heard of Mercedes Gleitze and I was intrigued to watch her story come to life on the big screen.
I was not disappointed and it had me gripped from the beginning.
It is beautifully filmed. The young director and writer Elliott Hasler captured the mood and the era perfectly.
The main characters Mercedes Gleitze and Harold Best were portrayed convincingly by the actors Kirsten Callaghan and John Locke. Kirsten was particularly impressive in the swimming scenes, which must have been incredibly challenging!
I'm looking forward to see more films from Elliott Hasler in the future!
