Beethoven was the child of a Flamian musician family and became a member of the electoral orchestra of Bonn in 1783. In 1787 he studied at Mozart's in Vienna and in 1792 he moved all to Vienna becoming a student of Joseph Haydn. The Vienna High Society loved him as a piano player as well as as composer. Carl Ferdinand van Vleuten (pseudonym: Carl Ferdinands, 1874-1945) was a German medic and writer born October 20, 1874 in Bonn, German Empire, and died in 1945 in Berlin, Germany. He is known for be the co-author of "Alle Tage ist kein Sonntag" with Carl Clewing.
Carl Ferdinand van Vleuten was the son of a member of the state parliament. He attended a grammar school in Bonn and studied medicine, natural sciences and art history at the universities of Bonn and Munich from 184. In 1898 he received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Bonn. He then went on a trip to America as a ship doctor. From the end of 1899 he worked as a doctor in the mental hospital Dalldorf near Berlin; later he practiced independently in Dalldorf, today's Berlin-Wittenau.
In addition to his medical work, Carl Ferdinand van Vleuten published novels, stories, fairy tales and poems under his pseudonym "Carl Ferdinands". He wrote mainly for children and young people; his narrative works mostly deal with topics from Rhenish history and are characterized by strong patriotism and a decided hostility to the French.- Z.
