Now it is up to Saber to save April and Fireball, who is also aboard RAMROD.

Later, Colt gets trapped in a cave by a new Renegade unit, and the iguana shows him the way out so that he can get back to RAMROD for the final battle.

They find out that Miguel's father used to be an associate of the Outriders. Miguel and his father are visited by Viperon, one of the Outrider leaders. Miguel's father had made a promise never to pick up a gun ever again, but when Viperon takes Miguel hostage, that promise is put to the test.

Mr. Big Top, the ringmaster, introduces himself and invites them to the show. While patrolling along the river, Saber meets Lilah, one of the trapeze performers, and saves her from a scorpion attack. Lilah reveals that they are only performing one show at the outpost. When her partner, Damon, goes missing, Saber suspects Mr. Big Top may have a more sinister motive. Saber, Fireball, and Colt go undercover as part of the circus.

Hoyt leads Saber, Fireball, and Colt to the mine, where they encounter their latest villain, Gattler the Rattler. As the Star Sheriffs try to escape with the townspeople, they are cut off when Gattler unleashes the latest Renegade monster.

Saber, Colt, and Fireball go undercover as a trio of drifters. They get into a fake bar fight, which catches the attention of Maddox's foreman. The foreman gets them hired with Maddox's operation. As they head back to their hotel, the foreman reveals that he is also an agent of Cavalry Command. Later that evening, someone takes a shot at Fireball through the window of the hotel room. The Star Sheriffs give chase, and find Maddox and his men waiting for them. He's also captured April and RAMROD.

The Baron argues with the Star Sheriffs and orders them to leave. After doing some research, April believes that the Outriders may be causing the eruptions. Saber goes back to challenge the Baron to a duel. As the duel progresses, the volcano erupts. Fireball, Colt, and April fly RAMROD toward the volcano, and come face to face with the Outriders' latest Renegade Unit.

April gets part of the message, tells the guys what happened, and Saber decides they should head to Tropicus to find out what is going on. Meanwhile, George tries to escape with his family. Their jeep gets blown up by the Outriders. George's son, Ari, thinks that his parents have been killed. He and his pet dinosaur, Magenta, escape to safety, and run into Colt. The Star Sheriffs learn that the Outriders have been capturing the dinosaurs. Ari and Magenta volunteer to help with the mission.

The Star Sheriffs decide to visit the kids and lift their spirits. Two of the kids are taken hostage by the Outriders. Sincia tries to save the children on her own, and April follows after her. They get ambushed and also taken as hostages. The Outriders give the Star Sheriffs an offer. They want to trade Calibose for the women and the children.

April follows after him thinking that he may need some back up. They arrive in the Highlands, but Saber's father said that it turned out to be minor. The Riders invite Saber and April to stay the night. During the evening, Saber notices his parents acting strangely. Saber finds his dog, Scottie, wandering around outside. When Saber's father comes out, Scottie growls at him. After Saber is attacked in his room, and April nearly has a chandelier fall on her. They confront his parents and discover that they are vapor beings in disguise. Saber learns that his real parents are being held captive by his old enemy, Vanquo.

Saber expects the Outriders to attack again at dawn, so Fireball volunteers to go out at night in the Red Fury Racer to scout them. The Outriders do attack again. Fireball tries to get back to RAMROD, but Gattler and the new Renegade unit are blocking his path.

The Chief calls Saber Rider, who was a childhood friend and blood brother of Sleek Elk. The Star Sheriffs arrive and try to prevent a range war. Colt and Fireball agree to guard Spotted Calf, while Saber and the Chief search for who was really behind the attack. While on duty, a smoke grenade is lobbed into the jail. Colt and Fireball wake up in the cell, and Spotted Calf is missing. Saber Rider has a tomahawk duel with Sleek Elk to try to prevent a range war. Meanwhile, April stumbles upon a barn that reveals who is really behind everything.

- While visiting Jeremy's Uncle Eli on his Nevada ranch, Denver and the boys attend a local rodeo. Uncle Eli hopes to win the rodeo prize money in order to finance a preserve for a herd of wild mustangs.
- The kindhearted Denver rescues Scott, one of the boys' arch rivals. Denver wins his heart and thwarts Scott's plans to expose Denver to the media in order to gain publicity and votes for the upcoming student election. Instead, Jeremy wins the election, and Scott vows to keep Denver a secret.

- When Heather gets a job at a dinosaur theme amusement park, Denver roams freely around the park and fits right in with all the dino-costumed employees. But when the roller coaster gets stuck with the kids on board, Denver risks exposing his true identity to perform a daring and heroic rescue.
- Following Jeremy to his job at the supermarket, Denver hides in the storeroom and stuffs himself full of potato chips. Meanwhile, Casey heads from the La Brea Tar Pits with Wally's dog, Rocky, to look for another dinosaur. Sitting on the remains of Denver's tar shell, she and Rocky drift back in time to a prehistoric jungle.

- Wally borrows his sister Heather's video camera and the starry-eyed kids set out to make a video--starring themselves. As they squabble over leading roles, Denver wanders off with the camera and inadvertently tapes an auto theft ring stealing a truck. While looking for Denver, Wally is captured by the unscrupulous thieves. But Denver alerts the boys, who rescue Wally and catch the thieves.
- Denver and Jeremy enter a wacky game show only to find they're competing against the team Morton Fizzback/Professor Funt.
- Daniel and Vince arrive at the Castle of Lions and meet a fellow Cadet named Larmina, who is revealed to be Princess Allura's niece and the trio are given their "Voltcoms", special gauntlets that access special abilities within them and will allow them in the future to pilot the Lions. As Pidge and Hunk go to rescue Keith from drifting into space (due to the fact that Wade's experiments on Black Lion have left it barely with any power), Kala, a Drule commander/strategist, and Maahox, a scientist, succeed in bringing Lotor back to life. They explain how long he has been gone and the changes that have been made to his army, and send a Robeast to Arus to battle the Voltron Force. Lance and Allura realize that they must fight it without the other three Lions. When the fight gets too much for Lance and Allura, Daniel and the others get to the Green (Vince and Larmina) and Yellow (Daniel) Lions to help fight off the Robeast alongside Lance and Allura, but even that proves to be not enough to turn the tide. Pidge and Hunk save Keith and send him into Arus' atmosphere to crash land on the planet, accidentally decapitating the Robeast and destroying it. As Lotor watches in anger, Kala and Maahox explain how the same Robeast was from his time and the beasts are not enough to defeat the Voltron of today.
- After the previous events, Wade goes insane and kidnaps the Alliance and replaces its soldiers with robots, while additionally holding Coran hostage. Meanwhile Lotor and Maahox plot to send a new Robeast to Arus to destroy Voltron as it is powered by a combination of Kala, the Drule commander that Maahox terminated and Haggarium, the substance that Kala's energy apparently stabilized and was used to resurrect Lotor. As the Lions fight the Kala Spider Robeast (with Daniel piloting the Red Lion along with Lance due to an injury he sustained), Keith and Larmina fend off Wade's robots on the ground and Vince works on fixing the Black Lion, Wade (on another planet with Coran as his hostage) sends a massive Robot Lion to battle both the Voltron Force and Kala. At one point the Kala Robeast absorbs the power of Wade's Lion, severing the connection between Wade and the Lion, and forms a Mega Spider Robeast. Vince informs the team that he has completed the repairs of the Black Lion which sends Daniel back to the Castle using his "Speed Claws" Voltcom ability to retrieve it. Keith and Larmina board the Black Lion and upon Keith's command, the Lions unite to form Voltron. During the skrimish, they learn that their attacks aren't working and all but the Black Lion are too weak to form the Blazing Sword since it's surrounded by Haggarium-laced webs. But, after a boost from Vince's Voltcom, Voltron goes to full power, forms the Blazing Sword and defeats Kala.

It's so bad that they kicked their sheriff out of town, because they didn't want the law getting in their way. Saber Rider and April go undercover as prospectors. Saber gets appointed as the new town sheriff. Saber is disguised as an old man, and the appointment is meant as a joke. Colt and Fireball are supposed to stay with RAMROD, but Colt leaves to search for gold himself. After doing some snooping, Saber and April find out that Vanquo is up to his old tricks again. The gold turned out to all be fool's gold.

Colt takes an immediate liking to her. While recovering in the hospital, Anna Belle tells Colt that she was a computer expert and just wanted to see how the automated system worked. Now she's worried about getting fired. Meanwhile, the Outriders attack, and Saber, Fireball, and April face off with them in RAMROD. A new Renegade unit is unleashed, but without Colt there, they can't pull out the big guns. When Colt learns the truth about Anna Belle, he has to stop her, and get back to RAMROD in time to save the day.

Commander Eagle informs them that he is on the Santa Fe Express, and wants the Star Sheriffs to escort him safely back to Cavalry Command. The Outriders have found out that Wade double crossed them and attack the train. The train is traveling out of control, and heading towards a cliff. RAMROD manages to stop the train, but they discover that Wade has been shot. Wade gives April a locket that contains a microfilm of plans to the Outrider base, and tells her to seek out her cousin June.

Snake Eyes is a human being that has been working for the Outriders, who are vapor beings. Snake Eyes was captured, but made a deal by offering to show them where the Outriders' new weapon is hiding. Colt and Fireball escort Snake Eyes, but get ambushed. After fending off the Outriders, they start riding along and spy a tornado. They change directions to avoid it, but the tornado follows them. Later, Saber and April decide to check up on Colt and Fireball, and find signs of the ambush. They figure out that they better go looking for them, because they are in danger.

When they arrive, they discover the planet under attack by the Outriders. The Star Sheriffs in RAMROD fight them off, but get accused of causing the attack. After a heated exchange with Fireball, Prince Roland takes the Star Sheriffs to see his father, King Jaray. The King places the Star Sheriffs under house arrest and confines them to RAMROD. April reports back to her father, Commander Eagle, and he tells them the story of why King Jaray doesn't trust Calvary Command. Meanwhile, Prince Roland leads another attack against the Outriders, but gets ambushed by a Renegade unit. King Jaray finally gives in and asks the Star Sheriffs to save his son.

He issues an open challenge to a sharpshooting contest, which Colt accepts and wins. King Jaray shows the Star Sheriffs his new weapon, which he hopes will defeat the Outriders once and for all. He and Roland go searching for the Outriders and tell the Star Sheriffs they don't need any help from them. Meanwhile, RAMROD gets a distress call that New Dallas is under attack. The Star Sheriffs arrive, but find the settlement in ruins. Saber, Colt, and Fireball search for survivors, but get ambushed by the Outriders. They try to call April, who is still with RAMROD, but their signal is being jammed. April then comes under attack by Gattler and his fleet.

However, Gattler's forces soon overpower the King's fleet, and he is forced to finally call upon the Star Sheriffs for help. Saber, Colt, and Fireball get back RAMROD and fly it to the rescue. After the battle, the guys are showering. Prince Roland tells them to put on their best clothes, because the king has summoned them. The Star Sheriffs walk into a dark room, and when the lights come on they find out the King is throwing a big Christmas party. During the party, King Jaray pulls Fireball aside, and tells him a story about his father.
- 1987–198822mNot Rated6.8 (13)TV EpisodeGattler contacts Nemesis to let him know that he's found a supply of alkalyte on Planet Alamo. Nemesis decides to join him for this mission. With the alkalyte, it is believed Nemesis could merge the Vapor Zone with the New Frontier, and everything would be under his control. Commander Eagle tells the Star Sheriffs about Gattler invading Planet Alamo, and they blast off immediately. Upon their arrival, RAMROD is confronted by three Renegade units. After defeating the giant monsters, Saber, Fireball, and Colt sneak into the alkalyte plant to stop Gattler's plan.
- As Fireball and April are shopping in the city, someone takes a shot at them from a nearby rooftop. By the time they arrive, the sniper is reduced to vapor. Fireball finds a medal from a sharpshooting contest, and shows it to Saber and Colt. Colt recognizes it as belonging to his mentor, Tim Dooley. Dooley taught Colt how to shoot, and is the only man that could still outdraw him. Saber does some research, and finds out that Dooley used to be an agent for Cavalry Command. However, he was dismissed after being wrongly implicated in a crime. They were planning to pardon him. Saber hears an explosion, and sees Dooley running away from it. Colt refuses to believe Dooley is involved, and vows to bring him in and clear his name.

They meet a blue-haired girl named Snowcone that takes a shine to Fireball. At first Snowcone willingly helps the Star Sheriffs but later betrays them. The worst thing comes when Fireball falls into the hands of Jesse Blue.
