- Skyhawks, Inc. was a family-run air transport and rescue service based at San Marcos Field in Southern California, and headed by widower Mike "Cap" Wilson. A warm and encouraging father, Cap had 17-year-old fraternal twins named Steve and Carolyn. He also sponsored two foster kids: 14-year-old Baron "Red" Hughes and his 9-year-old sister Cynthia, usually referred to as "Cindy", though she was also nicknamed "Mugs". The Wilson crew also included Cap's girlfriend. Maggie McNally. Joe Conway was the Skyhawks' chief mechanic. The team saved troubled charter planes, rescued helicopter pilots, transported air freight, or ran secret government missions. San Marcos Field also was the home base of the Skyhawks' unscrupulous competitor, Buck Devlin, and his gang of pilots.

- 1985–198623mTV-Y75.9 (15)TV EpisodeYears ago Ghash was turned into a winged monster by a wizard when his greed led him to attempt to take the wizard's book of magic spells. Ghash makes a deal with Saw Boss to lure Jayce into a trap. In exchange Ghash will be made normal again. When Ghash realizes Saw Boss is going to destroy Jayce, his conscience causes him to give Jayce back his transmitter which provides communication with the vehicles and Ghash joins in the fight against Saw Boss. The wizard has watched it all and sees that Ghash has learned to be selfless and returns him to his normal form (something Saw Boss was incapable of anyway).

But a large number of Monster Minds are also on it's trail in an asteroid field. Vantu has completed his pyramid of magical treasures and offers all of it's power to Saw Boss. As it's generator gains in power, Gillian and the Lightning League are growing weaker.
- The Lightning League stops on a planet to warn its two occupants of Monster Minds taking over the galaxy. Selena has the rare gift of song -- she can sing anything into being, or destroy it. She and her father come to this deserted planet to escape those who would use her gift for evil. Of course, Saw Boss is hot to have her and he snatches her father to blackmail her into singing the destruction of Jayce. However, she chooses a song of destruction for she will not use her gift for evil no matter what. Saw Boss flees. She warns Jayce to go, but everyone joins hands and they all sing to help her restore the planet once again. Her father rejoins her unharmed.
- While teaching the cat people of a planet war strategies, Oon wanders from lecture to lecture feeling unneeded and worthless. Gillian discovers the planet houses a Nightwalker, which is kept behind enormous tall doors sealed with a gold symbol -- a design that even it cannot cross. Oon accidentally knocks it off releasing the Nightwalker whose only purpose is the destruction of every living thing. He first destroys the Monster Minds as he had to promise Oon, but then he's after Jayce. Flora and Gillian go in search of the symbol while Jayce and Herc try to keep the Nightwalker away from the city. The symbol is given back to Oon who propels himself to the back of the Nightwalker joining Jayce who has found the place where the symbol fits to shut him down. Oon's self esteem is restored when he is asked to teach a class.
- Unknown to Herc, he falls into a trap set by Saw Boss when he wins a bet and the map to Dream World. Helicia, keeper of Dream World, must accept them or face destruction from Saw Boss. Everything goes beautifully. Gillian and Flora return to the garden, Herc is wealthy beyond imagination and Jayce meets up with Audric. Upon combining the root, though, his dream turns into a nightmare when the rot is destroyed by Saw Boss and the vehicles are rendered useless. When all seems lost, Jayce calls upon the magic ring and the tables are turned. Saw Boss sees his greatest nightmare -- Jayce's victory -- and flees Dream World never to return. But everything was a dream and the root is safe.
- 1985–198623mTV-Y76.2 (20)TV EpisodeAnswering a plea for help in fighting Monster Minds, the Lightning League heads for the planet Argus Four, along with an arrogant loner, Aragon. Aragon, full of anger and pain, is out to destroy Saw Boss and the Monster Minds no matter what the cost. He sets charges for a planetoid to collide with Argus knowing it will destroy the planet and millions of people but killing Saw Boss at the same time. Oon tells Jayce and Jayce takes off in an airship after Aragon to convince him to change the direction of the planetoid. Finally Jayce convinces Aragon he is behaving just like Saw Boss by killing innocent people. Saw Boss evacuates Argus when he sees imminent destruction. Aragon sacrifices himself by flying his ship to the planetoid and detonating anti-matter bombs which disintegrate it and saves the planet. Jayce hopes Aragon was able to escape but his fate is unsure.
- To lure Jayce to his death, Saw Boss puts a marker in the shape of the root on an ice planet that is about to be destroyed by a volcano. Herc lands the Pride on the ice which is then nearly covered by an avalanche. The native people seek help from Jayce and everyone goes to work building an ice dam and storing up snow to drop into the volcano. Monster Minds attack, complicating things, but they end up helping the people when their lasers blast the dam which prevents the volcano from erupting when all the ice covers it up.
- 1985–198623mTV-Y77.4 (15)TV EpisodeWith a few clues and a little conjuring, Gillian produces a map showing the destination of the original Lightning League that disappeared years ago. In a far off place untouched by Saw Boss, Jayce is disgusted to find them playing war games -- recreations of their past glorious battles. They are angry to be interrupted by Jayce's good intentions in helping them defeat their "enemies." The old League takes the Pride and imprisons Jayce and friends. Saw Boss arrives and asks for them. The Captain complies until he realizes Saw Boss is out to destroy them. Saw Boss uses an old machine of the wargames to pursue them but Gillian surrounds them in blue light which the machine cannot see. The Captain joins Jayce in fighting Saw Boss, learning new battle techniques. He promises to patrol his galaxy to keep Saw Boss away and to watch for Audric's return.
- 1985–198623mTV-Y76.4 (15)TV EpisodeAn unconquered planet in the midst of Monster Minds intrigues the Lightning League and they go to investigate. Upon crash landing they discover the energy of the Pride and the vehicles and their own energy is being drained. It is an anti-life planet. They meet the Dark Queen who offers them the alternative of the touch of peace. Fearing this touch, they refuse it, but without it their energy will decrease until they cease to exist. Jayce finally figures out that the touch is not death but life. They are all touched and transported to another dimension. Saw Boss and evil forces cannot survive this magic of the Dark Queen; therefore, their planet remains free of Monster Minds. But the people pay a price for their freedom by having to adapt to an anti-life world.
- 1985–198623mTV-Y76.6 (14)TV EpisodeThe Lightning League visits a planet which harbors the greatest computer ever built, hoping its terminals hold information on Audric's whereabouts. The computer, Logos, keeps switching back Audric forth between helping and fighting Jayce. Gillian discovers that the people of the planet are trapped inside Logos which has been programmed to protect them. After a circuit blew the computer was confused. It needed to help free the people, but was told to protect. Jayce uses the magic ring to repair the computer and free the people. And, naturally, Saw Boss' evil intentions to use Logos are thwarted.
- 1985–198623mTV-Y76.8 (21)TV EpisodeGillian tells the story of Valroth, a powerful weapons maker who made living armor to protect his people many years ago. But the armor became too powerful and it was all destroyed except for the helmet. Jayce seeks the helmet, finds it, and after putting it on, his power is invincible. He easily defeats some monster minds. But the helmet is wicked and it takes over Jayce's body. Jayce and the power of light conquer the evil helmet, and then they destroy it.
- While stopping on a dead planet looking for Audric, the Lightning League crosses path with one of the Vizani, a gardener named Faro who with a few seeds and his own power brings life to the planet. Saw Boss witnesses this transformation via transmitter and sets out to capture Faro to make super strength vines. Faro's bird Queedo calls for help and the Lightning League answers. They free Faro and return him to his ship where he is able to destroy all plants with the throw of a switch which will also destroy Flora. Jayce is on the verge of destruction by the super vines, but Faro cannot pull the switch to save him and destroy Flora, so Flora pulls it. Flora is on the verge of death, but Faro is able to work another miracle and she is saved.
- Saw Boss enlists the aid of the Life Eater to be rid of Jayce, but the job must be done by the Life Eater's conditions: he causes his subjects to face their worst fears and if they weaken even for a moment, give in to their fears, and betray their friends, their life force is trapped forever by the Life Eater. He lures them to a planet and sets up realistic "illusions" and puts them to the test. Flora faces the destruction of all plant life by a method discovered by Jayce. Oon must admit to being a coward, abandon his master and return for retraining. Gillian's powers are reduced and to regain them and a powerful book of spells he must leave Jayce and become a leader rather than a follower. Herc is offered a fortune for the Pride, but must say his association with the Lightning League was a mistake before the deal is final, and Jayce faces Audric who tells him the root is destroyed and bitterly accuses Jayce of being at fault. The Lightning League does not weaken or betray their friends and they defeat the Life Eater and Saw Boss.
- 1985–198623mTV-Y76.0 (15)TV EpisodeMock training battles are interrupted by Dar, a robot sent from Baz in search of help from Monster Minds. The people of Baz are starving since they have defoliated the planet to prevent Monster Minds from growing there. Jayce and friends bring food and fight the Monster Minds. Flora's life is in danger from the defoliant so Jayce turns it off. He then makes defoliant bombs which surround the planet's atmosphere, but don't hurt the soil. All is saved and Monster Minds are forever kept from the planet.
- The Pride intercepts a message to Saw Boss declaring the Planet Kyros deadly to Monster Minds. A weapon there turns everything to crystal. Jayce leads everyone to the planet to find this weapon; but upon landing, he discovers it is a trap set by Saw Boss. The planet's bloodstone is being sucked dry of it's energy by a spider. Without the bloodstone's power the planet turns to crystal. Everyone is crystalized, except for Jayce who manages to stay one step ahead of the process. He destroys the spider and gives the bloodstone his strength to return the planet and people to normal.
- While everyone is sleeping, Herc lands on a planet in search of a buried treasure. Monster Minds force them to flee and Herc sets a new course to find Audric, to make up for lost time, that takes them through a whole galaxy controlled by Saw Boss. The vines have pulled all the planets so close together that a little more mass could form a black hole. Gillian finds a dead planet to be the critical mass, but after setting explosives, they realize someone is on the planet. They rescue an old fortune hunter and get off the planet in the nick of time, but not before realizing a fortune really was buried on the planet, not lost in the black hole.
- By using a lock of Audric's hair, Saw Boss creates a clone which trick Jayce into a trap. Gillian suspects the truth and convinces Jayce to leave the root behind as a precaution. Jayce is captured and a clone of Jayce is sent back for the root. Flora removes "Audric's" gift of a necklace and is once again able to sense plant life. She warns everyone that Jayce is not Jayce and the real Jayce, by using the magic ring, frees himself and arrives in time to help fight off Monster Minds and make good their escape.
- 1985–198623mTV-Y76.8 (17)TV EpisodeMonster Minds are planted aboard the Pride to contaminate the water supply. The water is jettisoned, forcing Herc to land the Pride in search of water and a Cobalt-49 crystal to repair the guidance system damaged by the vines. This is all part of Saw Boss' trap. Flora sees the vines and goes to warn Gillian who is searching for a crystal. They are trapped and Gillian falls off a bridge into a river. Saw Boss sets another trap, knowing Jayce will return for Gillian, but Jayce calls upon the ring for help and defeats the Monster Minds and rescues Gillian.
- On the ice planet, Auriga, revolutionary leader, Cyrilla, makes a deal with Saw Boss -- she delivers Jayce in return for Saw Boss deposing the gangster casino owner, Marduk, who's made slaves of everyone on the planet. Cyrilla realizes her error in trusting Saw Boss. Jayce and Gillian turn the casino heaters out onto the planet and then refreeze it, thus crippling the Monster Minds. Marduk is deposed. A rare energy form is found on the planet and Auriga becomes a mining planet rather than a casino planet.
- 1985–198623mTV-Y75.9 (16)TV EpisodeGillian leads the ship and Jayce to where all time meets and one can see into the future. After passing several secret tests that show his goodness and courage, Jayce is allowed to see his future, which shows his father being destroyed in Saw Boss' headquarters. To change the future, Jayce allows himself to be taken to headquarters and then blasts Saw Boss with the ring of light, chasing Saw Boss away. By this action he knows Saw Boss will not set a trap for them in his own headquarters, thereby the future is changed.
