- A soldier is unjustly compensated by his money-loving king and princess. Forced to fend for himself, he meets five remarkable friends: a strongman, one who can run faster than any other human, one whose bare head can create ice and snow, one whose breath extends for a distance, and one who can see and shoot for miles. The soldier inspires them to follow him, then they decide to stop the cruelty of the country's rulers.

But the Planeteers have their own problems to deal with, like escaping a large clam that accidentally traps them when the sub crashes through Sludge's barge, and still have to get out in time to stop a large mutant squid from attacking a sea-coast.

"Let Sleeping Giants Lie": Sunni is glum about attending the yearly Festival of the First Snow with the Gummis instead of a ball with CAlla, so is unhappy when she wins a game where the prize it is to carry a potion to Lethiathan Mountain. But she has more to worry about while she and Cubbi lose it and encounter a newly-awakened giant who attacks them...

Calla goes to the Gummies for help and Gruffi, seeing she's handy with machines, has her help him set up an old mechanical suit of armor to approach Igthorn as a "knight" to divert him while Calla searches for the egg to change Gregor back. "Do Unto Ogres": Toadwart is kicked out of Drekmoor while Sunni is disposing of her failed attempted crop-grower. He has his life saved by her so pledges himself to her service, so she tries to teach him about self-respect and assertiveness. As she is captured by the ogres he falls into the well she poured the potion down and becomes a giant, then attacks Drekmoor, not only to save her but to get revenge on Igthorn and the ogres for bullying him.
- 1990–199623mTV-PG6.7 (82)TV EpisodeThe Spirit of Earth, Gaia, is woken from a century-long sleep at Hope Island to discover that Earth is dying because of humans' carelessness in deforestation, pollution, over-hunting, and especially now by oil-driller Hoggish Greedly and his henchman Rigger, who threaten all life on a sea coast with their work. She sends a quintet of rings out to five youths around the world - Kwame, an African who tries to preserve plants, is given the Power of Earth to create mountains and earthquakes. Gi, a Malaysian with an affinity for sea life, is given the Power of Water to control any source of it nearby. Wheeler, a wild but compassionate American, is given the Power of Fire to create flame and control dangerous blazes. Linka, a Soviet bird-lover, is given the Power of Wind to create twisters and move objects. And Ma-Ti, a Kayapo-Spaniard animal-lover, is given the Power of Heart to bring out kindness in others and communicate mentally with any human or animal. The newly-appointed Planeteers learn of these powers at Hope Island before setting out to do battle with Greedly. Once there, they need help, so join their powers, which brings them a strong superhero who can transform to anything natural and whose sole weakness is too much direct pollution: Captain Planet.
- 1985–199124mTV-Y7.7 (65)TV Episode"A Knight to Remember": After accidentally scaring everyone into thinking they're under attack while playing as a knight, Cubbi goes out to gather plants and sees the grave of a Gummi knight, Sir Gallant, whose ghost than appears to him. The others don't see him and don't believe Cubbi, whom Sir Gallant asks for help on a quest he never finished to dismantle the gears of a clock that will end the world if started up for long enough. "Gummies Just Want to Have Fun": Nogum, a leprechaun Grammi knew as a kid, shows up and encourages her to enjoy life, which she's happy to do since she always works. But the others dislike how they cause plenty of problems without solving any, and order him out, and Grammi seems ready to follow him.
- 1991–199423mTV-G8.8 (14)TV EpisodeValiant, Arn, and Rowanne have just completed a treaty and celebrated it with Revery and are on their way back to Camelot. Valiant chooses the more direct route intending to explore the swamp called dangerous by the king. The three encounter Morgana and each ends up believing that he is experiencing his worst fear.
- Aleta and Hugo accept an invitation to Camelot but Hugo still does not approve of Aleta's relationship with Valaint. He speaks rudely to him and Valiant ensures him that not even he will be able to stop their romance if they wish it to continue. That night, Hugo is murdered and a witness names Valiant as a suspect. Though refusing to defend him meaningfully, to Valiant's anger, King Arthur can find no firm evidence against him so does not persecute him. But Aleta is convinced he did it so severs her ties with Camelot, allying the country she now rules with Mordred. This is just what he needs to help his movement, built mostly on those distrustful of immigrants, where he promises to take down Arthur's system of peace which he assures them won't solve their problems...
- Yurak's fleet shoots down a spaceship over planet Arus. Hunk manages to rescue the pilot, a pretty young slave who escaped from Planet Doom. The Voltron Force is skeptical, but Hunk has faith in her story. That night, the escaped slave breaks into the Castle of Lions' ammunition storage under orders from King Zarkon and plants a deadly bomb!
- A gay couple is attacked and one of them is killed, causing controversy among the family and a confession to be made.

But when an earthquake strikes, they go north to Santa Teresa to rescue victims - and during an aftershock, Wheeler is knocked on the head by stone and, found and rescued by a couple moving to the city, awakens to find that he has amnesia. He hears Ma-Ti calling to him in his head but doesn't know his voice, so is suspected to be mad and flees the hospital he is left at. He falls in with Teresa, a young woman who attempted to be his guide earlier, and learns first-hand what it means to be poor. He has to deal with hunger, attacks from gang-members, and the unkindness of others who don't help them. But when Teresa is caught in a fire, the other Planeteers find it but know that they cannot extinguish it without Captain Planet...and Wheeler must recover in order to remember his friends so he can join them in summoning him and save Teresa.

Gi goes down to examine pollution levels, and is attacked by Sludge's robotic octopus, losing her oxygen-tank and consciousness. She's rescued by Pontus, a resident of the secret underwater city Oceanus, and discovers that the protective dome around it is leaking from the contaminants. The civilization's Council forbids her leaving to bring the other Planeteers back to help, and the others, captured by Sludge, don't know where or if they'll find her. But with the pollution threatening animal and human life, they will need to unite to summon Captain Planet soon...
- The family prepares for the worst funeral of their lives. Ruth makes things worse on David by taking out her pain on him until he stands up for himself, and Nate makes things worse for Brenda by reminding her she had the chance to marry Joe if she doubted him. Claire, troubled by the fact that mainly negative memories come to mind, again finds comfort in Ted, who explains that it's not unusual. In the middle of the preparations, Keith gets an emergency call from Roger to remove a breaking-and-entering actor...who reveals Roger taped their affair as he promised he wouldn't, so Keith quits working for him. David has no other business so concentrates on the funeral to keep himself together, especially after a brutal insult from his father, who dodges the question on whether he had favoritism among his children but openly condemns David's gayness. Ruth's pain increases when learning it's a green burial so helps David in order to see the body. At the private burial, David is terrified when he imagines he's attacked by Jake in an orange-sweatshirt in the car and suffers another panic attack, so doesn't help. Ruth gets some comfort with Bettina's visit and, after the funeral, with Brenda's request for her to watch Maya until she can recover from her own pain...and anger.

Two siblings collect some to study at home with Pidge's help, and he takes some himself. That night, a group of mutant amphibian-like creatures attack a ship and the children's home. Though they easily destroy the ones in the castle, the Voltron Force's attempt to destroy those out at sea proves more than the usual challenge when a larger robot arrives as well, and damages the Green Lion so Voltron also leaks when formed.

Wheeler learns that it is just a machine Hoggish Greedly has invented to scare the villagers into leaving so he can steal their temple's jewels, but he is captured and must contact the others to stop the theft.
- 1985–199123mTV-Y7.8 (56)TV EpisodeTuck, Clutch, and Nip escape from Dunwyn Castle's dungeon again. Cubbi finds their lost treasure map and takes Tummi to look for it. They use the Gummies' tunneling Mole machine to remove rocks an avalanche blocked the treasure with, but are caught by the trolls who steal the Mole to steal Calla's crown jewels. The Gummies are left to figure out how to get it back so the robbery doesn't occur and humans don't get a hold of it or learn whose it is either.
- Dreadwing has Gangrin create a mind-controlling device, and uses it on the Dragon Flyz' dragons. The group is ambushed during an amber retrieval, and again even when no one except Aaron knows their location. Then the dragons turn on their riders, unable to fight Dreadwing's orders to attack them. Apex and Z'nith have to race against time to find Dreadwing so she can use the machine's power to channel her telepathy into the dragons' minds and free them from Dreadwing's grip.
- 1990–199623mTV-PG6.1 (35)TV EpisodeLinka and Ma-Ti go to visit his ornithologist friend Juan in Central America, and explore a valley of many birds with Juan's parrot, El Profesor. However, he and all the other birds end up following a bird that is actually Hoggish Greedly's robot to lure them into his trap for smuggling them off. When they attempt to free the birds, Ma-Ti and Linka are captured, and Ma-Ti strikes his head against a pole so finds it too painful to contact the others. The other Planeteers hear that they are missing so go after them, and El Profesor escapes and is able to let the others know who is behind their disappearance, but they have no way to be warned about a trap Greedly is preparing for them. They must figure out how to avoid being caught, free the others, and stop Greedly's escape to continue illegally selling birds.
- 1984–198524mTV-Y77.2 (27)TV EpisodeArus celebrates the rebuilding of a bridge by reenacting a legend of star-crossed lovers whose devotion to be together let their efforts to unite form the structure. Hunk is all set to perform with Allura after he wins a chance-game to see who will play the male alongside her. However, Lotor attacks for his own personal obsession during the event, and manages to cripple the Yellow Lion once Hunk finally makes it back in after fighting for the lives of both actors.
- 1985–199123mTV-Y7.4 (57)TV Episode"Bridge on the River Gummi": The wooden X Bridge falls apart and Gruffi decides to construct a new stone one, but goes overboard with making it long-lasting and grand, neglecting his duties to the others. But the real trouble begins when Duke Igthorn decides to use it as a shortcut to invade Dunwyn. "Life of the Party": Duke Igthorn meets Lady Bane and falls in love, and they decide to meet and see if they can come up with a plan to defeat the Gummi Bears since they both want to for their own respective purposes. In competition for finding a magical re-sprouting tree whose sap keeps their home from leaking, Sunni and Cubbi see them and hurry to think of an idea to thwart their alliance.
- The family must persuade the angry brother of a war veteran who died of lung disease that his brother should receive a military-honoring burial.
- 1985–199123mTV-Y6.8 (86)TV Episode"Bubble Trouble": While reclaiming her forgotten gummiberry juice, Sunni stumbles on a lost infant cliff dragon who swallows the bottle whole then hiccups flame-filled bubbles. Igthorn sees them and steals the dragon to attack Castle Dunwyn. "Gummi in a Strange Land": Gruffi's attempt to grab honey results in a panicked slumber sprite's putting a spell on him, forcing Grammi and Cubbi to follow the sprite as he drags his honey supply into Drekmore...and somehow battle its evil plants and animals and stop Gruffi from sleepwalking into danger at the same time.
- After returning to Warnado from a journey, Dreadwing sees Blackheart sicken from a mutated insect near the lava pool he was drinking from. Gangrin identifies the problem and is appointed to protect the Dark Draman's dragons from the insects, them send them with the creatures to lure the Dragon Flyz away from Airlandis then retreat so their dragons will be infected. They are determined to arrive at Warnado, even on rambunctious young dragons, and access the antidote to heal them so Airlandis won't be vulnerable to an attack, but Dreadwing has no intention of letting them do this.
- Immoral agoraphobic realtor Scott Crane orders the arson of a house so he can collect the insurance money, but two children are unexpectedly caught in the blaze and the arsonist, Rick, demands payment to ensure that he won't report Scott, but he refuses. That night, Scott's thermostat continues to rise and his stove mysteriously activates while only hot water emerges from his taps. He suspects that Rick is harassing him - until he catches him dying in the attempt to sabotage his circuit-breaker, and the attacks of causing his home to heat up continue.
- Russell is reluctant to go on Camp Hawkwood's seniors' experience "The Haunted Cabin", especially since he's heard stories of campers' disappearing there. The night before, a message warning against going is somehow engraved in his and Dave's cabin's floor. The night Russell, Erin, and Charlotte, and Dave go, Dave is trapped in his sleeping bag and almost sucked through the floor. The next morning the door opens then shuts on its own with a message heralding doom, and after they play a trick on Ramos, the counselor they know plays pranks for the Haunted Cabin, they find the landscape changed, leading them to a camp with unfamiliar people who react strangely to them...
- The director of the camp, "Uncle" Brian, explains it's another neighboring Camp Hawkwood and invites the group to stay while contacting theirs. But everyone but Dave is troubled by how the campers act as though they know of nothing from less than before thirty years ago. Charlotte and Erin start to be warned by a camper named Drew about something before he is interrupted by a counselor, Will, and they're led back to camp. Russell hears Drew locked in a barn, but he's unresponsive when Will investigates, but only indirectly. And Will's lied to Erin and Charlotte about calling Ramos; Uncle Brian admits to Russell he severed the phone from the wall. The four eventually learn that this Camp Hawkwood is cursed by the Indians who lived on the spot years before, and it now exists one weekend a year as opposed to not at all. But if any of the original campers leave or further damage the trees or grounds, everyone there will all pay, and Drew is desperate to be free...
- Annie and Zach are saddened to see some families in town don't have any heat or warm clothes for the cold winter, and wish someone could help. Plato explains how anyone can make a difference and even tells them the story of how a monk's giving to those in need was enough reward for him throughout his life in "The Emerald Lizard". The two are eager to donate many clothes to the families who need them, and Annie is even willing to offer her favorite coat - but soon wishes she never had done that. Hoping to bring out the satisfaction for her that everyone should feel after giving, Plato tells the story "Mr. Straw", where a poor man felt wealth through generosity to others.

- After a battle with Dramen in a dessert, the Dragon Flyz actually encounter a man, who can remember nothing but his name, Cifex. He is taken to Airlandis and forms a bond with Apex. But when they investigate the building he emerged from to see how he survived on Earth and if anyone else remains, Z'nith and Summit discover he is not what he seems. And Dreadwing attacks and captures both Apex and Cifex, whom he hopes to exploit.
- Annie is disappointed that her family's vacation is postponed since her father has jury duty, and wonders why he simply doesn't skip it. Plato explains citizenship can reward good character, as shown in "The Stone in the Road" where those with and without it are repaid accordingly, and even if it doesn't, can make differences for the better, as the Roman Cincinnatus demonstrated by leading when and how he believed he must during war.
- Emile Zigrodny, a classmate Zach barely knows, loses his house in a fire, and Zach is hesitant to show him support since their first meeting would be his giving charity. Plato and the others try to push him in the right direction by pointing out that anyone can be kind since even the least-likely are capable of it as shown in the Biblical story "The Good Samaritan", anyone can make a difference no matter how young as shown in "The Legend of the Dipper", or how it proves to have lasting effects for the giver and the receiver as shown in "Androcles and the Lion". Even the poem "The New Colossus" shows what many hope America and all people should be to the needy.
- 1984–198524mTV-Y77.3 (22)TV EpisodeThe Voltron Force decide to disengage at the moment the Polsar Canon will be fired at them (along with the robot they are fighting) so that their enemies will mistake it for a fatal detonation, and end up crashing in separate locations. Those in the castle that are trying to force out Garrett are unsure whether anyone is actually alive so do what they can to defend themselves. Lotor goes back on his word to the clone to let him lead a population of his own on Arus, so Garrett is determined to conquer the planet himself. The Voltron Force eventually find each other and learned what happened to Coran's actual son. However, since the Blue Lion is damaged, they seem about to be forced to try to destroy the solar-powered canon by night without the full power of Voltron.
- Annie is defeated badly by a formidable opponent in a hurdles race, and her confidence leaves her after that. Plato tries to help her get her it back by telling the story of "The Minatour", where an opportunity was taken to protect people in spite of the danger. When Zach acts confident, Ari points out to them both that different levels of courage are needed in different situations, as shown in Aesop's fable "The Brave Mice", and Plato speaks of William Tell, who put plenty at risk for his own sake and others'. Even the poem "If" is a reminder about how much courage life demands all in all.
- A minister is involved in a car accident and his son dies in the other car. Now he is beginning to doubt God just when the son's surviving friend, whom he convinced not to steal the church's teen-center money to run away from her overbearing father, has even more need to talk to him.
- A divorced woman meets an unfortunate end while partying with her friends, and the family discusses renting out the home to a seniors' dancing group.
- Gangrin stumbles on a mutated amber crystal that grows uncontrollably when exposed to light, and he and Dreadwing leave it lying around in a cave for the Dragon Flyz to find and take to Airlandis. The next morning, it sweeps out from the generator room, trapping people in its path and weighing the city down so it begins falling. Dreadwing and his Dark Dramen also attack while the Dragon Flyz are struggling to save everyone else, and they are uncertain of how to stop it since Aaron never got to finish the word before he and his library were crystallized over.
- While trying to reach the newspaper on the sidewalk, Samuel Wayne Hoviak, who was the best high-school friend of Nate, falls and his truck run over him. In the funeral service, Nate meets their other former best friend, Tom Wheeler; they recall their adolescence and realize that they are getting up. The bitter and deranged Ruth has no patience with George, and they receive his daughter Maggie. David proposes Claire to donate her eggs for the baby of his own with Keith, but she refuses. Claire feels her art rejected by the owner of a gallery and Billy misses his former personality. Rico dates Sharon and does not understand her hint that she does not want to see him again. Brenda begins an internship in a free clinic and does not support her first day, seeking Margaret's influence to help her to find a better place to work.
- During a mission with the Dragon Flyz, Dram sees a Draman village recently destroyed by Dark Dramen just as his own was by Kreigo when he was a boy before Aaron took him in. The others reluctantly leave him to get amber while he seeks out the enslaved survivors, but he is captured and forced to fight the Dark Draman leader Vydac in a lose-lose situation, while the captives cannot see the value of fighting even in self-defense.
- A space station gives a distress call before crash-landing on Earth. The Dragon Flyz go to investigate but Dreadwing and Nocturna race them to it so they can capture the technology. They succeed in grabbing the recording of where the evacuated crew was headed, but Dreadwing faces another enemy, a Dark Draman named Kreigo. After fighting, they agree to unify to conquer Airlandis, and the Dragon Flyz have to deal with them both and reclaim the satellite's information.
- 1985–199123mTV-Y7.4 (66)TV EpisodeWhen Tummi apparently wipes out the Gummi Berry crop through his own stupidity, he sets out to a long-abandoned Gummi agricultural region to attempt to find the materials needed to reestablishment it.
- Summit's dragon Wing Storm lays an egg just before a group of Dramen and Gremwings attack. Summit is able to fight by himself, but is forced to leave Fury, and her egg is successfully stolen by Nocturna, who was trying to take all the ones she could. Dreadwing has Gangrin use it with a mutating formula he invented, so when the Dragon Flyz go to rescue the egg, they are greeted by an enemy they can't return fire on: Fury's newborn cub, born a monster who serves Dreadwing.
