Trivia

Of note in this short is Gaylord Lloyd, Harold's brother, playing the Chief of Police, and both of them doing the "mirror gag" together. On film, Charles Chaplin did the routine first in The Floorwalker (1916), but the most famous version has to be the Marx Brothers' in Duck Soup (1933). See more »

The Not so Funny Harold Lloyd
12 December 2003 | by Single-Black-MaleSee all my reviews

Although Harold Lloyd was at the peak of his career in terms of short films, this one was probably one of the most unfunny films that he made. Even a genius has his off day, but this film just proves that he was compromising quality scripts for supplying a demand.
