Steve Porter ( Richard Dix ) is a young bachelor who has a hectic night life, and one evening he notices the silhouette of a girl across the courtyard and becomes quite fascinated. When Uncle Howard ( Edmund Breese ) his guardian-trustee hears about his parties, he refuses to give him more money until he is married. Steve's friend, Maurice ( George Beranger ) a theatrical producer, proposes that they hire a girl to pose as Porter's wife. Lovely Sally Lane ( Betty Bronson ) is signed to play this part. Soon the three men discover Sally's delightful personality, and Steve really becomes more interested in the girl, but Uncle Howard's suspicions are aroused, and he decides to move in with them. Sally becomes tired of the silly charade and does not believe Steve's pleas of love. Howard becomes infuriated by the situation and goes for a policeman, but Steve, realizing Sally is the girl from the silhouette, finally convinces her of his love.
