- Title Card: This is the tale of the strange adventures of the young Allan Gray, who immersed himself in the study of devil worship and vampires. Preoccupied with superstitions of centuries past, he became a dreamer for whom the line between the real and the supernatural became blurred. His aimless wanderings led him late one evening to a secluded inn by the river in a village called Courtempierre.
- Title Card: What was going on? What terrifying secret was unfolding? Allan Gray felt certain of one thing: A soul in mortal distress was crying out for help, and a voice within urged him to heed that call.
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): Did you hear that?
- Allan Grey: Yes. The child.
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): The child?
- Allan Grey: Yes. Yes. The child.
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): There's no child here.
- Allan Grey: But the dogs!
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): There are no children or dogs here.
- Allan Grey: No?
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): How is she doing?
- Der alte Diener (The Old Servant): Not well at all.
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): Oh? Why is that?
- Der alte Diener (The Old Servant): We found her out on the grounds.
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): Well, let's go see.
- Der alte Diener (The Old Servant): She has another of those marks on her neck.
- Allan Grey: Doctor!
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): [from the other room] What is it?
- Allan Grey: I'm losing blood!
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): Don't be ridiculous. It is right here!
- Allan Grey: Can't she be saved?
- Der Dorfartz (The Village Doctor): Perhaps. But she needs blood. It must be human blood. Are you willing to give her your own?
