- Female marionettes perform a can-can dance and their underwear is shown. Jiminy Cricket ogles them briefly in this scene
- During the sequence where the boys are vandalizing a building in Pleasure Island, a boy pulls down another boy's pants, briefly showing his little rear end.
- One of Gepetto's wooden clocks consists of a woman spanking a little boy's bare buttocks as he cries out with a jar of paint in his hand.
- Jiminy Cricket puts his hand on a toy woman's bottom area by accident but quickly gets his hand off of it when he notices.
- In Geppetto's workshop there are undressed baby cupids featured, on his music box.

- A cat hits a fox on his head with a mallet two times. The cat bashes the fox on his head, using the same object.
- A cricket falls into billiard holes twice. This is played for laughs.
- Children are shown throwing bricks at buildings, knocking stuff down, etc.
- There is peril throughout the movie.
Profanity

- The word "gypsy," a racial slur for the Romani people, is used a few times.
- Stromboli curses in Italian gibberish when he gets angry in some scenes.
- "Jackass" is pretty much the only swear word that is heard 4 times. It is used to refer to both a donkey (a visual metaphor) and a foolish person.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Pinocchio and Lampwick are shown smoking cigars, and drinking beer. As Pinocchio is smoking, Lampwick tells him that he is not doing it right and says, "come on! Take a big drag!" So Pinocchio does, and he gets extremely high, and he can barely see straight. And also, Geppeto is shown smoking a pipe in one scene.
- There is drug/alcohol use, but is shows consequences for using it like green sick faces, bad eyesight and turning into donkeys.
- In one scene there's a tobacco row pleasure island scene depicting 6 Sioux Native American as peace pipe smokers who throw out free cigars to the kids in the crowd.
- The smoking/drinking is done by children. However, the film clearly discourages it.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- just the appearance of Monstro, a big black whale with many sharp teeth and an aggressive look, could scare some kids.
- Stromboli threatens to turn Pinocchio into firewood.
- Contains frightening (but not traumatizing) scenes and images that might scare sensitive viewers (Monstro the Whale, Stromboli, the Coachman, Pleasure Island, Lampwick's transformation, etc.)
- Lampy candlewick turning into a donkey is definitely an anxious/eerie scene.
- There are many controversial outdated stereotype scenes involving blackface stereotypes that appears throughout many scenes in Geppetto's workshop including an India man on a clock, an African man jack in the box, a blackface moment with Cleo the fish covered in black smoke, 2 blackface soldiers next to Figaro, a blackface duck and soldier in Stromboli's caravan.

Violence & Gore
- When the Coachman examines a boy who has turned into a donkey and discovers he can no longer speak, he rips off his shirt and kicks him into a crate, when he discovers another is able to speak he throws him into a pen where he bumps his head against a cliff base.
- In one scene, Pinocchio drowns and is presumed dead, but comes to live as a real boy. Mildly frightening.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- There's a scene in the movie at Pleasure Island which depicts child slavery and animal cruelty with the boys turned into donkeys and being locked in cages and abused by the Coachman selling them into child slavery and ends on a cliffhanger which may be considered controversial by today's standard for modern audiences.
- There's a scary whale scene with Monstro who is chasing after Pinocchio and Geppetto on the raft on the ocean as they row the oars for dear life and Pinocchio gets drowned by water on the beach.
- A boy discovers he's turning into a donkey, he's scared out of his wits and calls for help, he begs Pinocchio to save him before competing his transformation with his last words calling out to his mother who isn't there, after completing his transformation he trashes the room in a state of panic before running away outside, Pinocchio then discovers that he's beginning to transform but Jiminy saves him, and they escape the island by jumping off a cliff into the sea.
- The coachman closes up at Honest John and Gideon with a devil-like expression in his face. His mouth twists into a large smile and a grimace, his face turns red, his eyes bug out and his hair turns devilish.
- In one scene, a kid transforms into a donkey, and this scene could definitely scare younger viewers.
- Pinocchio starts to turn into a donkey, but escapes before the process is completed, after he watches his friend transform into a donkey.
