- Ivan undresses to wash up and his rear is seen. At 3 different times the shot (in the same scene) very briefly shows his scrotum between his legs. A woman and a man are alone in the woods. The man is coming on to her and eventually kisses her against the girl's wishes.

- A war is going on throughout the film. We see two dead bodies that were hanged. Dead corpses are lying in a row, one was burned.

- Towards the end, it is revealed that the main character (Ivan) was hung by the Nazis sometime between his last appearance and the present. Nothing is explicitly shown, but this could be very upsetting to those who are not expecting it.
