Arkansas hard-rock yowler Amy Lee of Evanescence cut quite a unique figure when she first showed up in the mid-’00s. The nu-metal scene that the singer asserted herself into wasn’t just male-dominated, it was asshole-dominated. But Lee rose above that wan world of bellyaching and bad facial hair like a mythic beast, thanks to her enormous vocal power and messy, fresh-faced emo-goth charisma. Evanescence got kind of arty on their last album, 2017’s classically-tinged Synthesis. But they’re back to the sturm und drang basics on The Bitter Truth,...

Evanescence have released a new video for their single “Use My Voice,” directed by Eric Howell. The clip serves as a metaphor for recent activism movements, depicting singer Amy Lee alone in the darkness before she finds solidarity with her bandmates and a diverse group of people as the light breaks through. Howell, who first met Lee in 2015 when she contributed the end theme for his film Voice from the Stone, wanted the video to act as “a hopeful metaphor of moving from darkness into a more illuminated future by being heard.

Evanescence encourages speaking up in the new single “Use My Voice,” the latest offering from the band’s upcoming album The Bitter Truth, out later this year.
“Cover my ears and close my eyes/Just long enough to stop the noise,” Amy Lee sings over subtle instrumentation. “Go and take everything and throw it away/But I will use my voice.” The song erupts into a chorus featuring several female vocalists, including Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless, Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation, and violinist Lindsey Stirling.

Evanescence tap into quarantine fever with their surreal, iPhone-filmed video for new single “The Game Is Over.”
The clip, which the band filmed themselves (in collaboration with director P.R. Brown), maximizes their limited resources with an array of creepy effects and deadpan stares. The musicians scream, stand against blank walls, smear lipstick and don masks as the distortion and violent percussion builds to operatic heights.
“The Game Is Over” is the second preview of Evanescence’s upcoming album The Bitter Truth, their first batch of original songs in nine years.

Evanescence is done pretending to abide by unfair rules on the scorching new song, “The Game is Over,” their latest single from their upcoming album, The Bitter Truth.
“Had enough time kneeling, I’ve had enough of denial,” Amy Lee sings to open the song, which captures the frustration of abiding by another’s rules in a game that seemingly can’t be won, while searching for the strength to walk away. “When all the hate burns off/I’m left here with the pain,” she sings on the chorus.

The game is over. The Let's Ask America game show, which was developed for Scripps by Telepictures, has been cancelled after three seasons on the air.
Currently hosted by Bill Bellamy, Let's Ask America is a daily half-hour game show that polls citizens about fun and irreverent topics to find out what they're thinking. Contestants can compete from their own homes.
A Scripps spokesperson told Broadcasting & Cable "In reviewing the data after three seasons of the game show, we see that the audience affinity settled at a level that is below where we want it to be."
The List, The Now, and RightThisMinute -- Scripps’ three other original first-run shows -- will remain on the air and in production.

What will WWE do with Sting after his WrestleMania 31 match with Triple H?
It remains to be seen what sort of physical shape he’s in, but in the few cameo appearances he has made so far he has proved that he hasn’t forgotten how to swing a baseball bat or hit a Scorpion Death Drop.
However, putting on what is sure to be a 20 minute match with one of the greatest of all time on the biggest stage of them all is a completely different kettle of fish.
Despite not having an official match yet, The Stinger has overcome the first hurdle that was sure to have been bugging him in the build up to his debut at Survivor Series in November.
His return to a mainstream ring has gone down a storm, there has been more than a clamour by the WWE Universe to get him on a WWE card.

The new Wolfenstein is my favorite game at E3 so far. MachineGames is a relatively new game studio founded the same year the last Wolfenstein was released, 2009. Established by former founding members of Starbreeze Studios, MachineGames was acquired by ZeniMax Media in 2010.
For those of you who don't know:
The game takes place during the 1960's after the Nazi's have won World War II. You, of course, are Bj Blazkowicz, part of a growing resistance. Set in Europe, The New Order will have players infiltrating Nazi strongholds and battling legions of enemies, while taking control of "super weapons" that the Nazis have used to dominate Earth.
The game is Single Player only, and I am perfectly fine with that. Machine Games developer Jens Matthies described the game as an action adventure first person shooter. This game will also delve into what makes Bj tick and why he does what he does.

EA Games has released one hell of a the badass announcement trailer for Shank 2, which brings both the ultra awesomeness and ultra violence. The game is created in the style of an animated cartoon, but as you know, Shank is not meant for kids. The game is over-the-top and bloody insane. It looks like this sequel will be gloriously fun. This my friends is a true balls-to-the-walls action game.
Here's the game synospis:
Shank 2 returns with a story of redemption as Shank, a former mob hitman with a dark and vengeful past, is thrust back into action when the lives of those close to him are endangered. Expanding on the original game's rich and intuitive combat and control system, Shank 2 continues Klei's tradition of making fluid brawling controls and stunningly beautiful visuals that leapfrogs the competition in the 2D side-scrolling genre. The game also introduces an intense new, arcade-style...

If you've been living under a rock recently, we have some bad news: The jig is up. The game is over. We're finished. The apocalypse is upon us.
Yes, the day you've been waiting for is almost here. This Saturday, May 21, 2011, Jesus Christ will return to earth to kick things into high gear, according to a movement of loosely affiliated Christian groups, websites and radio stations that have mounted an elaborate campaign, including billboards, bus stop bench ads and a traveling caravan, all to spread the word. If you live in a major northeastern city, someone is probably standing on your street corner with a "Save the Date" sign right this very second.

What's grosser than gross? That seems to be the driving force behind most of the laughable direct-to-dvd horror films that plague Blockbuster. It's a deluded effort to trump each other with the most vulgar, depraved shit they could possibly think of in their darkest hours when the pretty girls won't even talk to them. Chaining her to a drainpipe and sandblasting off her boobies not good enough? Let's fuck a wound! Not far enough? Does she even need to be alive? Let's bone a corpse! Rock on, we're rebels, let's go get handjobs from suicide girls, yukka yukka yuk. Well, congratulations, sirs. The game is over. A Serbian Film has defeated you all by leaps and fucking bounds. There will never ever be a more vile and disturbing sequence of events than you will see in this film. It makes Human Centipede look like a "Charlie Brown Christmas Special." It will fucking break you.

The best thing about Scott Pilgrim vs. the World? Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, one of Ramona’s “evil” exes... who just happens to be a mega movie star who headlines movies such as The Game Is Over 2: Empire Online has a gallery of posters for Lucas Lee flicks, each of which is, individually, funnier than the entirety of Scott Pilgrim. The one above is my favorite, I think -- it’s hard to choose -- though I do agree with Empire that the highlight may well be the tagline for Action Doctor: The good news is you're going to live. The bad news is he's going to kill you!

Check out the movie back catalogue of Chris Evans’ Lucas Lee in the latest collection of Scott Pilgrim posters…
Our chums in the States have it lucky this week, as they get to see Scott Pilgrim Vs The World from this Friday, whereas here in Blighty the movie isn't set for release until 25th August. It's a cruel world sometimes.
The latest piece of promotional joy that's come from the film's impressive marketing campaign is the release of a quintet of spoof posters, each featuring the character of Lucas Lee. Lucas Lee - played in the film by Chris Evans - is one of the nemeses that Scott Pilgrim is up against in the film, and as you might be able to tell from this collection of images, he's a movie star.

I saw a little movie called Scott Pilgrim vs. the World the other night. We'll review that next week. But one of the characters - an evil ex- that Pilgrim (Michael Cera) has to defeat in order to date Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is movie star Lucas Lee, played by Chris Evans. Here are some fake movie posters from Lee's catalog:
The posters come to us from Empire, and there are a few snippets of Lucas Lee's movies in his chapter of Scott Pilgrim. Not enough, probably, to warrant a Machete-type spin-off.
What you will see plenty of is exactly what the new Captain America has to offer in highly edited movie fight scenes in this movie in just a few days. Here are three more posters featuring Lucas Lee. I would pay to see The Game Is Over 2 just for the ridiculous premise behind the title.

Just in case you didn't know, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World comes out next week. The hype train for Edgar Wright's latest has been running full speed ahead for months now, but here's a new batch of goodies to get you in the mood for the film's debut (and if you're curious, be sure to check out our own Todd Gilchrist's review from the Comic-Con screening).
Up until now, most of the promotional materials for the movie have focused on lovable slacker Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) and his blossoming romance with the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). What we haven't seen nearly enough of are the seven evil exes Scott must defeat to win the heart of his one true love. That changes a bit today.

Clint Eastwood scores yet again with a rousing tale of the moment when Nelson Mandela harnessed the power of rugby to unite South Africa
Clint Eastwood has been acting in movies for 55 years and directing them for 40. Astonishingly, in an industry that favours youth and discourages originality, he's been doing his best and boldest work in his eighth decade. It seemed he'd reached a creative zenith when he returned to his roots with the classic western Unforgiven in 1992. But since the turn of the century, he's made 10 immensely varied films, including a remarkable defence of euthanasia, Million Dollar Baby, the superb diptych of Second World War films, Flags of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima, a documentary on piano blues and a deeply felt story of a man rethinking his values in late middle age, Gran Torino.
Not all of these films have been particularly subtle, but each has...
