Storyline

The marriage of architect Mike Brady and homemaker Carol Martin née Tyler will be the second for both. They have the issue of blending their two already large families, Mike who has three children and Carol who has three children. One additional issue is that the Brady household was testosterone laden with Mike's children being three boys - Greg, Peter and Bobby - and the Martin household was estrogen laden with Carol's children being three girls - Marcia, Jan and Cindy. The six children not only have their usual issues in growing from children to teenagers, and in this situation in getting used to a new parent and new siblings, but also interacting with new siblings whose mentality generally reflects their specific gender, which more often than not is totally foreign to them. Mike and Carol also have the new roles of parent to daughters and sons respectively. Add to the mix the girls' cat Fluffy, the boys' dog Tiger, and Mike's longtime housekeeper Alice, and the collective new Brady... Written by Huggo

Trivia

The Brady Kids (1972) was an animated spinoff broadcast on Saturday mornings during the fourth and fifth seasons of the prime time The Brady Bunch series. The series was produced on a shoestring budget by Filmation and featured the voices of the six Brady kids along with Larry Storch and Jane Webb. Mike, Carol and Alice did not appear, and the kids were accompanied by a dog, two pandas, and a talking magician mynah bird named Marlon. Over the course of its 22 episodes, the Brady kids met Superman, Lois Lane, Wonder Woman (in her inauspicious television debut), and the Lone Ranger and Tonto. They also performed a song each episode, including "It's a Sunshine Day" and a cover of "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo." Ironically, Sherwood Schwartz was unhappy with this series; he said the Filmation people veered way off course for what they planned for the series; the did not give him script approval; and Florence Henderson and Ann B. Davis were angry about being discluded from the series. In the second season three of the kids, Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick and Christopher Knight; quit; and Filmation responded by getting replacement actors for them; and then suing them for breach of contract. In spite of the Schwartz did work with Filmation again; both on The New Adventures of Gilligan (1974), and Gilligan's Planet (1982). See more »

User Reviews

Hey, it may be corny, but at least your kids can watch it!

Ok, so it may be predictable and corny. However it is one of the few things that come into our home via that cable in the wall that my wife and I can let our young son watch without worry. He thinks the Bradys are "new" and laughs at every episode. By the way, if you don't like it, don't watch it. That's what remote controls are for.
