"Simona" was never released in Belgium both for censorship and family reasons (Margot Margaret's was Patrick Longchamps's wife and the director followed his father-in-law's advice not to show the film for some time not to harm his family life).
Director (Donald Cammell) was hired to supervise an English language re-edit of this film, which ultimately was never released.
This was allegedly Laura Antonelli's first film, but following Salvatore Samperi's advice, Patrick Longchamps shelved his film for a year and waited until "Malizia", Samperi's own film, was released before showing it. "Malizia" made Laura Antonelli an overnight success. When "Simona" came out people flocked to the Cinema just to see Laura in what was billed as "Laura Antonelli's First Film".
