Sex & Nudity

  • Some kissing.
  • A man says to his wife:"you are so sexy for white house".

Violence & Gore

  • The violence and gore in this movie is very outdated, it is not too graphic most of the time and the blood is clearly fake. May not be too frightening to younger audiences in modern times. That said though, this is still a violent film and is very frightening.
  • A woman hangs herself from a building in front of a large crowd, whilst telling a child that she is doing it for him. We see the hanging in full detail, very disturbing.
  • A man is killed after being impaled by a large metal rod. We see the rod spear him through the neck and come out his back. No blood or gore, but disturbing.
  • A woman falls from a balcony. We see blood drip from her mouth and her arm is clearly broken. She survives, however.
  • A woman is pushed out a high window. She falls onto a car and crashes through the roof. We hear that she died.
  • Two men are attacked by dogs. We see the dog biting and pulling at them. Some blood can be seen on their clothing. Both men survive.
  • A man tries to climb an spiked iron fence but slips and impales his arm on a spike. We see the spike come through his jacket and there is blood.
  • A man is hit in the neck with a pane of glass and decapitated. We see his head separate from his body, and spin into the air in slow motion; some blood is shown, but the act itself is very clear.
  • A woman is stabbed in the neck with two skewers. Very little blood, but one skewer can be seen stretching the skin as she tried to pull it free.
  • A man threatens to stab a young child, however he is shot by police (offscreen) before this can be done.

Profanity

  • Some mild language but nothing graphic.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Mild consumption of alcohol and some smoking.
  • We hear that a man was riddled with cancer and had been taking high doses of morphine to manage the pain.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This is without a doubt one of the scariest movies of all time. It contains many nightmarish and horrifying sequences throughout as well as a very disturbing theme that may be too much for some people to handle. The movie itself just feels very haunted and demented, and the scariness is all what gives it an R rating aside from the violence.
  • The scene where the mother is attacked at the hospital is very sudden and intense.
  • The religious themes that pervade the horror in the movie could make it even more disturbing for some audiences.
  • All the scenes in the Violence/Gore category are very intense and disturbing.
  • The soundtrack is very scary.
  • Overall, the entire film has an unsettling and creepy atmosphere, reminiscent of an H. P. Lovecraft story or a Stephen King novel.
